Hi Melanie and thanks...did you see the adjusted version of the one I sent to John and Jack? to my eye, that's about as far as I want to take the interior detail so that we continue to follow the composition out to the field of corn. |

Thanks, John! I think your comments add value to the image. Here's the revised version. What do you think? |

Hello Jack...
As they say "your wish is my command"...ha! See if this suits you better...even including a 3 pixel stroke around the edge. |

Charles...thanks very much for the comments. This was a bit of an 'after thought' image while photographing the barn, and I'm glad I took the shot. |

Thanks, Palli,
I was surprised at the top tassels turning black and still am not quite sure how that happened in the IR spectrum...need to investigate! |

Thanks for the comments, Emil! Yes, the 'slanting' is intentional to indicate old-and-dilapidated. |

Hi Palli,
I'm looking closely at the foreground rocks and the dog and still feel they aren't 'tack sharp'. Having said that, the image is quite useful and impressive for club competitions and the like. I just would have thought 1/160th and f10 would have provided a 'crisper' overall sharpness. |

Emil,
Well done sir. And, again, it's just great to see all of us experimenting with IR and techniques. One thing I would suggest for this one is cleaning up all the black spots throughout the scene...perhaps dead leaves that wouldn't reflect infrared radiation? If you wanted really abstract motion, you might move the camera a bit quicker when you pan it during the exposure. In the extreme, you'd get something like this if you did...I present this somewhat facetiously as an 'extreme' example! |

Wow Charles!
Competition image in my book! Love that you flipped it...no comparison in the version you've presented in terms of visual impact and composition. Very, very well done...and, yes, the variety of Infrared within our small group is refreshing and educational for us all. |

Hi Jack,
ETHEREAL...I am picking up on your style! I like it as is, and the treatment in post-processing is on the money in my book. |

Greetings John,
Very effective use of IR for a portrait. Great pose, too, in my view, as the subject is looking up and left. For my tastes, the face needs to have more 'grit' or at least depth and contrast. I've worked it a little in the attachment to both darken it and add contrast. If you like this better, it may be necessary to go to the eyes and lighten them again after you complete the previous changes. See if you like this version. One last thing...why are you providing .gif files, John? We generally use low-res jpegs, and those are also easier to download and adjust if any of us wanted to do that to offer another alternative like I have here. |

Hi Melanie,
I like this very much...a classic street scene in my view. Post processing is excellent, especially in the blacks. I'm not a 'cropper', and I see you've given us the full frame. Some may say there's uninteresting bits in the top and bottom, but I'm personally fine with it as it is. |

Hi Palli,
Beautiful composition and scene. I like it very much. Your crop has placed the runner and dog in perfect position in my view, and you've eliminated distracting elements. My only critique is that the softening of noise that had to be done has also weakened the critical sharpness of the image, at least on my monitor. |
