YES, Palli...I agree completely. Here's Color Efex Pro's Paper Toner #2, and it seems to soften the boldness between whites and blacks. It may even address Charles' constructive criticism about perhaps too many dark pockets in the scene? Any other views? |

Hi Emil,
I peeked at Palli's version in full size, and I agree completely on the need for some darkening, contrast and corner burning. The scene, in my view, is still tranquil and peaceful with these adjustments but has more visual impact. |

Tops marks for composition, Palli...foreground, mid-ground and background. In my humble view, I can't quite get into the meaning in this photo or the story...my eye keeps going up to the lightest part of the image...the IR foliage. The sun bather is beautifully set in the scene compositionally, but somehow, I'm missing the 'impact'. |

Hi Jack,
Very interesting rendering of the trees and cabin. I have the "summer cabin melancholy" when viewing this. I personally think you took on a very tough variable-lighting situation and handed it very well. The fence is anchoring and making the image for me. Even though we know it's a cottage in the woods, I would have liked to have been able to see the front door in the presentation. |

Hi Melanie,
I prefer your FIRST color IR rendition, as, to my eye, it contains more contrast and saturation of color. Color IR is a world unto itself as we are all saying. I remember Ektachrome IR back in the film days...some wild scenes resulted from this film! I personally think it has its place and is novel. |

Hi Charles,
I like this very much. The sepia tone and the wonderful composition and tranquil mood all come together for a very strong image in my opinion. I made a slight LEVELS adjustment and added back the sepia in this version, which might have a bit more sparkle and warmth, and then again, it might not! Well done, sir. |
