With the crop, I enjoy this image immensely, Palli! I especially like the 'flip'and the treatment with the Duplex filter. Strong visual appeal from my standpoint, and the various reflections are both mysterious and adding value to the scene. Well done. |

All...
In looking at my own submission this month, I wish I'd added a very modest white 'stroke' to the edges to define the boundaries of the image. Our black background on the page doesn't work well without this image having a border around it. |

Hi Charles,
I am so enjoying your presentation to us of color IR. I have one other body that is converted to color but seldom use it...you have given me an incentive! I really like the composition and the mood presented with this capture. Shooting IR subjects that are in shade is always a challenge when there's also a highlighted portion. For my eye, the foreground being shaded looks a tad 'dirty' in terms of IR treatment, but I well know this is a function of the medium and not sure what you could change. You might just use the Dodge tool to the grasses and see how you like it...or not. |

Hi Emil,
Classic shot of the arch. IR works really, really well in this one in my opinion, what with the foreground foliage and reflections of same. I'm glad you had no clouds in the sky...I think this view is elegant and very in keeping with the shape of the arch and its uniqueness. Top marks from me! |

Photographic art, Jack! Really unique subject matter, and the choice of IR is a very good one. You and I tend to see the IR world a little differently on blacks, whites, and contrasts, but just for fun I did a smidge of cropping on this AND added Detail Extractor to the top two leaves. For my eye, it adds an element of dimensionality...for you it may not. By the way, you even managed the old compositional rule of odd numbers versus even...with 5 leaves! |

Hi Ernie,
So very, very well seen! Many would pass by and never think of either this composition or the use of IR for this scene. I think the processing is spot on. I have cropped off a bit of bottom and rh side. See what the think. The lighter base distracted my eye a bit from the reflections. Wonderful image overall. |

Hi Melanie,
Love the feel and the mood of this...my very first thought in seeing it was...slightly flat. I set LEVELS on this and applied Color Efex Detail Extractor and a dash more contrast. See what you think. |
