All...
Wow...thanks to ALL of YOU for the excellent feedback...never really noticed the bike rack, or noticed it but didn't bother to simplify things and remove it. Here's the revised view, and thanks to all of you, it's a stronger image for sure. |

Hi Emil,
Ah, the joys of our subjective views! For MY eye, the image is slightly flat, at least on my calibrated monitor here at home. I added a dash of contrast, then darkened the corners in NIK Color Efex Pro. For me, this change allows the framing of the foreground rocks without placing any emphasis on them and dramatizes the flowing stream. Corner darkening also keeps me right in the photo, peering into the forest beyond the rushing stream. See what you think. |

Hi Palli,
This all works very well for my eye, and the post-processing has clearly done the trick of taking this static subject and giving it life of sorts. Very nicely accomplished! |

Hi Charles,
First and foremost...WELCOME. We have fun, you will too! I simply love the image and how you've presented it. The cropping out of the barn is ingenious, and the use of color IR and the subsequent pastel-like effect is first class. This is an obvious competition image in my book. Great entry image into the group!!! |

Powerful image, Jack! It has impact...it's telling me a story of an afternoon alone hiking in this incredible woods. The warm toning is a real plus, and having done this in high contrast or bold blacks and whites would have diminished the impact in my view. Competition material! |

Hi Earnie,
Well done in my view. With this tight of a composition of the wonderful Techatticup location where you are shooting, I'm not sure IR adds a great deal in terms of the image impact...it could have been done in color and converted and given similar effects. Nonetheless, the image is a very strong one in my view and certainly needs presenting to the viewer in monochrome. |

Hi Melanie,
I like it a great deal and exactly as you've presented it to us! Great use of IR for this frequently-photographed subject...that use, in my view, lifts it up a notch! Well done. |
