I like this VERY MUCH Palli, and the richness of the blacks and whites is not lost on me. What I think you may want to consider is straightening the image...it appears to my eye to be tilted downward right. I used the ruler tool and Rotate Canvas to make the attached version, and to my eye it appears more true. You may need to add canvas as a result of the need to crop the whole image after straightening, especially to give the tree more 'base'. Another potential tile using alliteration...Troubled Tree. |

Oh, and by the way, I used Nik Color Efex Pro and applied the Darken/Lighten Center present to do a 'corners burn' and place emphasis on the animals. |

Melanie,
Well seen! Also nice to see an IR from Africa...and am guessing it is rarely done. Glad you worked the scenes with both color and IR. I played with this quite a bit, trying to reduce the 'crunchiness' of the noise patterns, get the animals out of dead center, and boost the contrast on the whole scene. I also did a mask to allow me to set a white point in Levels in the clouds. For what it's worth, here's the adjusted version I made. See what you think. |

Hi Nathan,
I like it! It's surreal. The color IR palette works well in this scene in my view. |

Hi Craig,
Honestly, I hadn't been bothered by the large tree until I removed it in the adjusted image attached. What was personally troubling me more was a need for contrast and a white point in this image. Both of those things were incorporated into this version, along with a quick and dirty cloning to reduce the impact of the tall tree. What do you think? |

Hi Nathan, and thanks for the feedback. If you put your finger on it as to why you are bothered by the horse/barn composition, let me know. Great to have other eyes see your work! |
