hi Palli...
I was wondering about the highlights along the top, which you've cropped out. I think on balance this is a stronger composition, and thanks for the suggestion. As for Topaz, it's one of the presets in the Topaz series of filters:
TOPAZ>Topaz Labs>Topaz Impressions>Featured>Monet II.
Hope this helps you to find it. |

Melanie, this is a superbly technical image in terms of focus. "Tack sharp" as they say. I also like the centrality of the butterfly...defying the "don't center the subject" is just fine in my view. If you enlarge this and look closely at the sky areas, you'll see some cloning marks and a speck of dust or two. Also, the clouds in the upper rh side seem to have taken on a brownish cast, either from the conversion or from extra burning-in. I would tone down or remove the one really bright cloud highlight in the upper lh side on the ones you added. The clouds are so oof that I don't mind them being a part of the scene. |

A very intriguing subject Nathan, and you had the vision to see it! The image as presented has a color cast to my eye, so I'm conflicted over whether it's a color IR or a monochrome IR. I also find the darkness on the rh side somewhat distracting to the composition as well as the large tree trunk upper lh corner. Making changes in these elements in the attached image, and using Nik Silver Efex Pro to get a Fine Art BW adds value to my eye to the scene, but you would need to decide this for yourself. |

Palli...a wonderful application of IR! What a unique structure, and the foreground foliage explodes in the bright sun with infrared. See the attached adjusted image to see just a few things I thought could enhance an already strong image. I have lightened the clouds with Nik Color Efex Pro Viveza, also increasing contrast in them. I have removed the foreground dead branches and filled them in with light foliage. I made a few other 'fill ins' in the foreground foliage. Does it add value to the image? It is for you to decide. |

Craig, a beautiful image in my view, and you took full advantage of the f22 to accentuate the sun and create the star. Without any green foliage in the scene, I'm not sure the end result here is any different than what would have been achieved with a conventional capture converted to monochrome, but maybe the IR enhanced the ice on the tips of the branches? In any case, well done. |
