48 May 20 Reply Your idea is a novel approach; I did not consider drawing in a window frame. May 10th
48 May 20 Comment Stanley, I not a bird photographer, but my limited exposure to shooting birds tells me a hard thing to do. I think you did a pretty good job getting the image at 320 sec with a 178 lens. When the birds on the left side are removed, the image seems to be improved. I took a shot at cloning out the birds in photoshop to see if it moved the picture in a better direction.
Post more bird images. Thanks!

48 May 20 Comment Jamie, Well done. Very nice detail! May 10th
48 May 20 Comment Margaret, I am not sure what I can add to the comments, but I think the direction that Beverly suggested is a good one. I think her example is a bit heavy-handed; however, a bit more drama in the skyline would help enhance your image. May 10th
48 May 20 Comment I love the feel of an empty beach. The execution with your wide-angle lens is right on. Detail in the foreground helps pull the viewer through the photograph, well done. If you have access to post-processing software, a suggestion would be to try and enhance the detail in the foreground and sky by playing around with the contrast and color saturation. Here is my attempt at an interpretation, but I like your original as presented. May 10th
48 May 20 Comment Beverly, After living in South Florida for several years, I naturally learned to appreciate beautiful orchids. It is difficult to capture the elegance of the flower at shows because of the challenging lighting conditions. The light in this image looks flat. I am not sure how to best approach this challenge, but it would be nice to see some sidelight to bring out more details. Another technique to consider is focus stacking. Both Lightroom and Photoshop have features that make this an easy process. I have seen some good examples of using focus stacking even with a handheld camera.
I would love to have this plant in my garden; unfortunately, it too exotic for our Arkansas winter.

48 May 20 Reply Beverly, Your suggestion has merit. The lighting in this image was tricky from many aspects. By attempting to alter the window light, the final image will still look like a white rectangle on the wall because there is no information in the file to help dim the window. The solution is a creative choice; however, here is an example of my efforts to dim the light in the back of the room. I think it does help bring more focus more on the subject. May 10th
