I am perhaps not the right one for added textures however the capture of the bird's positions is great. I would vote for Candy's version if pressed for a texture preference. These look like sanderlings but it has been years since I have seen one.
Cheers and apologies for the late comments |

wow Lots of discussion here. So I am looking at the photo first. Ground level is great and a difficult capture .......but I find the foreground too distracting. I will not add to the discussion on which is which. for me if feature in the photo take you away from the subject then ..... the bird is amazing I do like Merv's crop and the additional Piping crouched posture. very nice.

Whispering sweet somethings ..... I also think this is a exception to the "animal Butt" rule". It works. The Cob has that "what do ya reckon" and Pen has her head slightly downward. I may to drifting into Anthropomorphic zones there . I also vote for the second sharpen version. Cheers |

fantastic colors. If the Pistil were white you would have an Italian Flag !!! I too Like the original Crop. The double subject works .... You have to take insects as you are presented them ...it would be nice if it turned around for you to face the camera.
anyway very vibrant photo. |

Thanks for the feedback .... Partly where he was is due to his movement .....hard to get him to stay still..... close but still moving . I was thinking that the log was his path into the picture so highlighting where he had come from and with the character they display it is a bit of "in your face MATE!!"
I do appreciate the comments and will learn more about "burning down". cheers and thanks |
