69 Dec 17 Comment I got excited about rattlesnake then I realised it was the canyon !!

Sandstone is amazing the textures and subtle tone it draws your eyes to explore the
various layers and curves . I have no appreciation of how crowded some of these areas can be.... creating some time pressures and tripod leg crashes....

I like the falling sand and am with Mervyn I am curious about where the sand goes

It is nice as is !!!

69 Dec 17 Comment I miss wood ducks!! There are few in "domestic" enclosures in NZ. I recall the soft whistle call when seeing them in North America Washington Arkansas etc.
I really like the colors and the clarity of the head and eye.
I actually like the original due the the view with more of the concentric rings in the water. it does help.adding a sense of movement.
Background helps make the drake stand out

Nice work Donna

69 Dec 17 Comment I always appreciate the creativity Candy brings with her ART using wild things.
The flight capture is amazing and adds some majesty to a often goofy looking bird. (sorry no offence to anhingas). They seem difficult to capture for me. This image presents their form in a very interesting position and action.

I found the head lost in the nesting materials and for me birds in flight my eye is automatically drawn to the head ....I agree with Mervyn about the colour

69 Dec 17 Comment My image is sharp it is the position that is my comment.
Well framed however I feel if the body were more side on ....perpendicular
it is hard to get squirrels to do the right thing
I like the colors and how the shadows fall

cheers

69 Dec 17 Comment Great capture !!! and another cropping challenge. Good luck for you and the snake...... bad luck for the Gecko
Action shots are always a challenge to get exactly right. I like the coil of the body in upper right adds some balance for me.
Reduction of the blurred stem on left...Candy and Mervyn have it with the cropping approach
it does create a bit of a round-the-corner prespective

It is a great picture
