I like the way my eye curves with the passage. almost fell like going through it. At first I thought the dark fore ground was a bit of a distraction but it helps embed depth and position. " out of the darkness and into the SUN" ( words to a song Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway)

I am a novice here as well but wanting too get more experience.
Excellent to catch the shooting star !!! I think the choice of foreground is a critical thin to get a sharp horizon the marks the sky horizon land line well.... so carefully selection of the setting .....then hope it is. clear night.
Yir setting sound right I use the widest faster lens I have 16-24 f2.8 Toking and as I use a D500 Nikon I thought could have been an issue for speed but it works play with the WB as well 2800-3500 with alter the colour I sued q higher ISO in some on my attempts. For me now it is how cold the night is (freezing) that limits the time spent trialling. I use the app Snapbridge to control some features however it chews the phone battery. The Nikon batteries hold charge well. I reckon lots of try and see will pay off in the end
