Cindy, after looked at it some more, I would suggest a Mono, low key version, that might be an interesting one. |

don't know about horse, just the left most little guy looks odd. I would clone it out or darken it. |

Ray, interesting, unique are what come to mind. Since you mentioned, is D7100 with you at the time? if it's, would try a compressed shot. might be interesting..(sorry, not knowing what's there, and what the scene). |

I like Cindy's revision, and much straight forward representations of your original nature idea. good work. |

Cindy, a great rendering from the original one. With Stephen's revision, I wonder what's the main focus of your intend, while it could be several different scenarios, and each one a winner, put them in the same image, might set off competition, unless that's what your thought. |

notice the green on its head (in front of its eye, and back of its beak), learn that at the sanctuary, it turns green as it in mating situation. :) |

since the title is 'Swallowtail.....", assume the main actor is the butterfly, won't you want to give it more dominate space rather than flowers?
Although color is pleasing, both butterfly and flowers are pretty colors, I can't evaluate the sharpness & details of the image. perhaps shot at a closer distance would yield better details, and a different angle, for example, move to your right more to get butterfly's profile, legs, etc. That would be a stronger image. |

light and details around its eyes are great, perhaps that's the image you want to express. thus crop in further, only frame it around horse's eyes, eliminate most of the trough, and right side of image and the rusty part, as those are not enhance the value of the horse expression. |

Too much a blurred picture to me, since you ask for the viewer's reaction. there's it.
next time, try faster then 1/30-1/50s and pan it, so least you got some birds in focus, then the rest of blur would enhance the mood, just my two cents. |

good image, consider to spot a place before the subject, and shoot as it moving toward you and till it almost past your position. May find better pose as they approach you. surprise! |

good one!
have never got a close and good look of this guy, thanks for sharing.
Haven't figure out what's the light/white area on the right, either post proc, or environment, either way, darken the area or crop it out would add points to the image. |
