27 Mar 17 Comment This is a beautiful, moody image and expertly processed. I know you cropped it for competition purposes, but I think some of the sky area is unnecessary. See below. Mar 9th
27 Mar 17 Comment I think this is a great action shot, especially considering the circumstances. She is a beautiful girl. I did a quick edit and removed the holes from the left side of her face as they were distracting. I think if you remove all the holes, the background will be fine. I also used the radial filter in Lightroom to try and lighten her eyes some. Also, it looks like part of her hair in the back is brown and not white. I'm sure that she will love and appreciate the image. Mar 9th
27 Mar 17 Comment Beautiful capture and edit. Love his expression. Mar 9th
27 Mar 17 Comment Love the editing and the crop. What a bummer that there weren't any animals to photograph! Mar 9th
27 Mar 17 Comment As always, a great image. Sharp, colorful and capturing a great pose. I love the light reflecting on the water, also. Very sharp image especially since you were in a kayak with a 500mm lens and your shutter speed was only 1/200th of a second. Very impressive. Mar 9th
27 Mar 17 Comment Very nice image. I like your composition and processing. I'm not sure what your shutter speed was set to, but it would have been fun to make the water show even more movement by slowing it down a little bit more. Mar 9th

36 Mar 17 Reply Arnie, It is always the goal to capture the best image in camera, but when that fails and you have no other opportunity to recreate that image in camera, you can use the computer to try and rescue it. I put Michael's image (I hope you don't mind) in Photoshop and using the clone tool and the brush tool with different shades of color, I tried to soften the brights. I worked on this quickly, so there are definite imperfections, but hopefully this will give you an idea. Work in small sections at a time using different levels of low opacity. Mar 22nd
36 Mar 17 Reply I like your edits. Mar 11th
36 Mar 17 Reply Thanks, Kim. I didn't even notice that the blues and green became that strong. Thanks for pointing it out. I also went ahead and brightened the image some. Mar 10th
36 Mar 17 Reply I did notice the blue water and think it is a very beautiful color. Mar 9th
36 Mar 17 Comment Beautiful, dramatic image. You did a great job on the editing process. I would suggest, since you are emphasizing the Colorado River, that maybe you crop in a little tighter. I'm not sure that the shadow in the foreground adds to the impact of the image. Mar 9th
36 Mar 17 Comment This is a very well processed image. The colors and sharpness look good. One thing I would suggest, and this is just a personal preference, is to not have the boat dead center in the image. I'm attaching a suggested cropped version of your image. Mar 9th
36 Mar 17 Comment A very nice, moody image. I like the composition and the use of the ice in the foreground. The tone of the image makes you feel like it is a very cold, gloomy day. Good job. Mar 9th
36 Mar 17 Comment Very calming and peaceful image. I like how you cropped this image and your reasoning behind it. Mar 9th
36 Mar 17 Comment This is a very striking image. The clouds add movement and impact to the image. Great composition and the verticals are straight. I really like this image. My only suggestion would be that the sun reflecting on the building may be a little too overexposed. But overall, this is a beautiful image. Mar 9th
