Ed, you can see that I was just answering Jean about entering in Photojournalism. I know entering PSA is not your goal. And you could enter this in PSA Color, for example, as all parts of it are yours.
I think it shows crazy skills! I would love for you to post your steps, that we can all try this. Thanks! |

I enjoy both images, but your first submission is spectacular, in my opinion. |

Pei-Fan, apologies for not getting your image posted right away. Completely my fault.
I love the image! There are three or four dots in the sky, some birds. I'd consider removing them since they don't look like birds.
Using Dehaze on the image could make it much more clear and crisp. But it would remove the ephemeral quality of your image. |

No changes can be made in any Photojournalism entries, it is a reality-based category, along with PSA Nature and PSA Travel. The idea is that certain categories need to not be altered in any way.
There are numerous categories where this type of image can complete. Ed could enter this in PSA Color or a Creative category and do very well. Ed enters most of his images in photo clubs, and clubs set up their own rules.

Thanks, Kathryn! I had a lot more reflection, but it made the image way too busy. So much going on in this image, so I was trying to make it less busy. And the people are so tiny against the big truck that I didn't want my subjects to be even smaller with more of the image being reflection.
I agree that there is a lot of tree, but it's a long narrow and busy image already, so I thought the tree allowed some space to rest our eyes. But I will take a look at trimming down the tree, which will make the fire fighters bigger.
It is a posed image, that was the assignment, to pose an odd number of people in the way of Annie Lieberman. If it was a real fire, it would look completely different.

I agree the water could be better. I spent a couple of hours trying to buy a water hose "brush" to lay down water, use AI to create fire water hoses, etc and no luck. I will have them fire off the real hose next time. |

I fixed the truck front reflection. The water reflection actually wouldn't show, based on where it shows up above the tire in this crop. But I changed it a bit so it shows up a little.

Thanks! So appreciated! I am enjoying the challenge! Other than the reflection of the hose water I need to add, is there anything else you would recommend? |

Wow, great job removing the official photographer and adding the unusual guy! I definitely wouldn't get it to be as believable as you.
I think we would all benefit if you could post the steps to remove, add and make them "fit", including shadows. Or a link to a video that you would use. |

Love this image! What a great image for gift cards! I agree with Ed its a bit odd on the stems and maybe on the flower "petals" or "leaves".
But think this is really gorgeous and I'm going to try this sometime! |

Good for you to see this and see a composition in it. I know what you were going for, but I'm not seeing the pretty rose garden area. We just see some unattractive bushes.
Perhaps a longer crop so we see your pretty garden? I do like Ed's idea to add a little more to the bottom and left so its not quite so tight. But seeing that rose garden will be key to bringing out the Catch-22 of the situation. |

I think Ed did a nice job on the edits. His sky and flowers are more balanced.
It's a great scene with the walk leading us in and then separating around the statue. Very pretty place! |

Jean, I love this! Great perspective and viewpoint.
I immediately saw the halo that Ed mentions. Another way to handle the halo is to use the Clone tool. Put it on DARKEN, not "normal". Then make a small brush and clone very close to the edge. Here's a short video. You'll see how simple it is. It shows up with sharpening or extra contrast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoeZuY--_8k
Jean you can enter it in PSA Monochrome with removal and sky replacements (if you photographed the sky and aren't using someone else's). There are just three categories that are Reality Based--Nature, Photojournalism and Travel (so that we don't make places look way prettier than they are). Color, Monochrome, Architecture, Landscapes, etc can all be altered, as long as all replacements are your own. |

Hi Ed, it is a sky replacement. I do mention that in my comments. I got rid of the floating vegetation, plugged some bright holds in the trees. Let me know if I got them all.
I'm going to work on the water reflection and I'll repost once I've handled that part. |

Thanks! I did not catch the water reflection, I did the reflection before I added the water. I'll work on that! |
