Really fun! I feel I'm back with my grandpa in Massachusetts when he would get a shave! Excellent! |

Kathryn! WOW!! It absolutely looks like a 1920's barber shop! Your tiny change made a big difference! Brilliant!
Being really picky, the track lighting on the ceiling would not be there in the 1920's, so I'd consider cropping down a bit from the top and/or just removing them. |

It was as you described! I shrank the size from 900K to to 450K and it appeared! Thanks for the heads up, Jean! |

I've reworked my Jet Reflection Pass using all the advice. I darkened the sky, thanks to Jean's suggestion.
Kathryn suggested I add clouds. I liked the idea, and tried a couple dozen of my own skies and then some stock skies, but because the photo was taken just off the ground,I didn't find any that looked realistic.
I've flipped the jets to left to right, per Robert's suggestion.
Ed caught that I forgot to run Noise and Sharpening and I had crazy halos, so I've fixed all those things!
Pei-Fan suggested the smoke didn't seem like they were moving very fast. They are going slow, just a dozen feet off the ground, but I did make the smoke a bit thicker and much less puffy.
Anyone see anything else they can see that I should change? Thanks for all the great feedback!

Thanks, Ed! It's a coveted image and the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels do it at every show, so that guy was trying to get a winner, too! |

Thanks so much, Sunil! I am going to try a couple of things suggested (noise reduction, possible crop, and remove halo), but I'm glad you like it! |

Thanks, I think I posted an earlier version, as I had removed my haloes and had run noise reduction. I feel like a tight crop has the planes looking like they are standing still. Do you? When I rework, I'll double check my work. Thanks! |

Thanks, Kathryn! I'll consider an even longer crop. It was a smoky sky from all the jet contrails. I'd have to do a sky replacement. I do have my own skies, and that is permitted, since I don't plan on entering this in Photojournalism, which would not allow the replacement. If I enter it in Color, I can make the changes that have been suggested. |

I'll think about flipping it when I rework it. I also noticed that the bottom plane was longer. You'll see this shows up in hundreds of images of the Reflection Pass.

I would never ever figure out that was a replacement roof, bravo!
I love the texture of the poles!
A couple of tiny things to consider--would the lighter grass be a bit better darker, so our eye doesn't run off the page? Perhaps remove the antenna on the top of the cabin? There is a barn in the back right. Since its a partial building, I'm not sure it adds and you might want to remove it? Certainly any of my suggestions you might choose to enterain can be done the "old fashioned way", without AI. |

I love the layers and layers, it has real depth. I know you aren't a fan of post-processing, but if I had this image, I'd consider darkening the trees and adding more contrast to make the rows stand out even more.
There is a bit of a bench on the left, which I'd remove, as its just a bit and distracting from the eye traveling through the tea plants.
This is a perfect example of leading lines! |

Wow, I'm agreeing with Robert on everything this round. I felt that the original was very striking and quite sensational. I'd start back with the original--its got some banding--maybe too small a file? And straighten the horizon. I don't think the birds add a lot. The water isn't really the subject, I don't think it needs to be emphasized.
I think its a great image and so powerful! |

Kathryn, nice eye to see the symmetry in the line-up of chairs! Have you used Generative Fill in Photoshop? It would finish the bottom of the image and even a bit of room on the right, so we saw the complete back of the chairs. It would take about 60 seconds. I'm happy to show it to you on Zoom or send you some directions. It's perfect for this kind of thing--when a tip of a bird wing gets clipped, etc. It makes it not eligible for PSA International competitions, but its really a great fix for this (although the edges work well enough, its still a great image!). |

Sunil, once again, you pick the most interesting subjects that I would never see!
I agree with Robert that the green band on the far right is a little confusing in the crop. Maybe desaturate it a bit? And the rosary seems a little too electric to me. I had a plastic day-glow rosary like this growing up and it would shine like this at night on my bed stand.
I don't think it would be quite so bright in daylight in a car.
I like your idea of faith traveling with many. |

Burano is one of my favorite places! I love color and I agree with Robert's assessment, that putting this image in Lightroom and "select subject" and bump up the "texture" and a little "clarity" and take down the saturation a bit overall. I think those changes that will take 90 seconds will really jump this image to the next level! |
