Thank you! I just tried a monochrome version. Do you like it? Did I go too dark? |

Sunil, I tried monochrome. What do you think? Do you have a different suggestion? |

Thanks for everyone's feedback. Jean suggested I try black and white. It the model a different vibe. Do you like it? Did I go too dark? Thanks! |

Yep, Kelby is big on Rembrandt lighting, as it adds a lot of depth and interest to the face |

Definitely like this better and feel it is much more believeable. But I LOVE your monochrome version and I like Ed's idea of some pink in the sky, too. |

What an interesting image! I've been looking at the frozen flower photography videos and I thought this might be a frozen block of cherry blossoms.
I think you've done a remarkable job with what you had.
I think the gray light and faded blooms hurt your image. I think a close crop on just the flowers and adding some vibrance might make a nice version.
I've never been to see the blooms, I'll have to add that to my list! |

Fun to see pre-flower season!
I really like what you did with this! Interesting sky, great reflection in the water, nice lines with wall and stone edge and a cute kid--I really want to adjust his bike for his size, ha ha.
My only suggestion would be to crop up a bit on the road and bring us closer to the beauty in the scene. |

The location is nice with a muted background and the man and the frisbee are colorful. The water splashing adds to the story.
I'm not sure why everything is out of focus but the dog? At 1/80th, the trees, rice fields and foreground wouldn't be in focus. Perhaps you were panning? If so, you would want a lower shutter speed so that the dog is sharp and the rest is more out of focus.
Nice try to do something different! |

Another person who is multi-tasking on a Zoom call! I have to say I have never done such a complex project in a Zoom call! I'm busy writing birthday cards and filing bills, lol.
I love the image. I can't believe you got such a black background from a black monitor! My suggestion would be to name it "Garlic", since the roots are not what draws my attention.
Great experiment!

I like the image, and I agree with Sunil that you did a nice vertical correction. I also find the gold unbelievable. The image looks like a bright day image, and the yellow doesn't fit. Maybe lower that layer so the yellow isn't so strong? Or add more of an orange to it?
Do you have Nik Color Efx? It's much more powerful than Viveza for this type of thing.
You have a great image to play with! |
