Thanks so much, Geoff! Those aren't airplane streaks, they are Starlink streaks (satellite trails-----are in dot-dot-dot lines and planes are in straight lines), which a lot of photographers work hard to show Starlinks! But I've removed them. Thanks! |

Thanks, Pierre. Sadly, Florida, and the Dark Park, lacks wonderful foregrounds, at least where the Milky Way was in October. But I will work at finding something more interesting. |

Dean, Florida has nice dark park and I've found it easier than photographing in Indiana. Sadly, we lack great foregrounds so far in the park. |

Thanks, Mervyn! This was photographed between 8:30 pm and 9 pm. Kissimmee Prairie Dark Park is not far from you and gives you this scene (or better view of the Galactic Core) all summer, although it shows most up in the early hours.
Happy to shoot with you here next October when we arrive before the Galactic Core sinks below the horizon.

It's fun the emu is in the road, and the colors work together.
But he's dissected twice by the deep white lines, which really cuts him up. Maybe if you cloned out the line through his head we would still understand he walked across the road?
His head looks a little soft to me, but that is hard to imagine with an f/14, so maybe it is just me. |

Nice job! I agree with Mervyn that a crop to put the bee on the Rule of Thirds will strengthen your composition even more. Nice rich colors, crisp bee. Keep up the great work! |

Nice job, Cindy! This is nicely processed and sharp! I agree with Mervyn that he needs a bit more room on top and to the right. You might update the yellow From what I'm learning, its best if both wings show and the eye shows more, so you might look and see if you have any more in your collection. |

Nice job, Pierre! I think Mervyn is mentioning the same thing bothering me. Center, below the stick the bird is on--there is a light area that would be good to be darkened. If you aren't competing in PSA Nature, you can clone it or spot heal it. This might also make a beautiful black and white. |

Mervyn, What a beautiful image! Fabulous diagonal, gorgeous color and beautiful lines of the frog. Being picky, there are a couple of marks on the stick that could be darkened.
Great job! |

Terry, so impressive! Thanks for setting the bar VERY high!!! Really cool idea and clever to put her against buildings flying as a ghost! |

In one of my PSA classes, they explained that we read left to right, so a bird flying to the right is more pleasing than flying right to left (something that might be useful for Helen's osprey). However, in international competition, this isn't helpful, as many Middle Eastern and Asian languages read right to left, so those judges will subconsciously prefer the opposite direction.
In your tanks above, there is no clear action, so rotating it, just creates a completely different abstract scene. I agree its just a fresh way to look at it.
Also in the PSA class, they recommend you turn your image upside down, so you see it as an abstract and see where your eye goes--it often reveals something too bright or too heavy you missed when judging a barn and moon. Gotta remember to try this technique again! |

Jim, great catch on getting the bird off center and giving it room to fly. I can't believe we all missed that. |

Wow, thanks for all the great feedback!
Most suggested I shrink the moon, so I did that a bit. I did move it up on a power corner that Jim suggested and it makes a nice triangle with the tree/barn. Thanks, Sunil!
I did crop the sky and grass, as suggested by Terry. I did darken the barn (pulled highlights) and I did blur it slightly by taking clarity to -50% to create a sense of the moon in focus and the barn slightly out of focus as suggested by Jason. Since there is writing on the barn, I'm not sure if I pulled off the "out of focus" barn without it looking like its not photographed well. What do you think?
I also added more moon glow spilling on trees and grass to compensate for the darker barn, which darkens a lot of the image.
I also used warp to try and make the barn not "tip" at the grass line since its a bank barn. Pull it off or need more work?
Jim suggested I have moonlight spilling out on the ground from the widows in the front, which I did not do, but I do love the idea. What do you think? |

Oooohhhh, I'm on the Terry train, super interesting with the saturation and red tank! I also like Sunil's b/w idea if it was contrasty. It's bizarre there were so many tanks at the recycle station. |

I appreciate how you saw this and saw the interest in the scene. The chairs frame the vases, so I think they add a lot to the image. Love how you are being really creative in your images lately. |

Terry, I think everyone has given you a lot of great ideas to improve an already fab creation. Check out Jason's link on my image where the photographer blurs part to create distance. I'm going to try it on mine, it might be an idea for you, too.
How did you pose the woman to get the feel of her flying? Thanks! |

Helen, Lucky you to get a clear fish with your bird--I usually get a glob and you can't tell what is what!
The guys have great ideas for you. Does your bird have a pink cast to him? Osprey are white and chocolate, at least in the USA.
It might be a fun pic to swap out the sky--of course you can't compete in PSA Nature once you do.
Looking forward to your image next month from your big trip!
