Cindy, Welcome!!!
I agree the textures and Bokeh are fabulous, and your anole is easily seen and adorable.
Crop-wise, do you have a bit more of the bottom of the plant holder that is cropped on the lower left?
I don't always think a Rule of Thirds is necessary and we would lose your bokeh if you crop sky or the right side of the image.
I would darken the bottom right plant, its very bright, and distracts from your texture fest. If you aren't going to compete in Nature, you could just circle and Content Aware Fill it (happy to explain if its new to you). If you are competing in PSA Nature or a Club, you probably can't make changes except to darken it.
As far as that ISO 2000, do you have Topaz DeNoise? It will easily clean up the noise and sharpen at the same time, or you can use the Sharpen AI also. Great stuff, happy to discuss offline if you need more info (BrendaFishbaugh@gmail.com).
Do you live in Destin? I am in Sebring, FL from late October to mid April, and we could arrange a get-together.
Again, welcome! |

Wow, your new iPhone did improve your quality...look at that eye and feathers! Pierre's crop is great.
Animal butts are a no-no, as is cropping off feet, feathers, and the eye not crisp, but Pierre's idea solves the butts and feet issue and you did a great job on the eye.

Oh! What a great experience! He certainly looks like a cuddle toy! Great colors and contrast, those orange arms are the coolest! I love how he's almost hidden by the woods. My only suggestion is to lighten his eye on the right side of the image just a bit to show up a tad more. |

Wow, a great moment where you caught a boy in his velvet! You don't say where or how you got this, but, lucky you! My deer always hide in trees.
Something seems a tad off on this on my monitor. I wish we had your SOOC image. Maybe its the ON1 processing? The leaves behind the deer seem to be a bit blue and maybe over processed? We'll see if anyone else notices.
What a great moment!

Dean, this might be my favorite image of yours! It says just 1/60th, but your stream water looks like you had a slower shutter speed since the water is smooth. And were you low?
I'm going up to Pictured Rocks in 2 weeks, so I'd love to know where you got this. My email is BrendaFishbaugh@gmail.com if you don't want to post here. I'm going to be in Copper Harbor, Houghton and over to Marquette, if you have any recent ideas you'd like to share. Thanks! |

Wow, isn't that wild! When we were in Costa Rica, we photographed these guys in an aquarium in a museum! So, the male is much smaller than the female?
Great shot and extra points for standing in the rain in the middle of the jungle! My only suggestion would be to consider darkening the leaf midrib, since it is light and a strong diagonal, taking our eye off the page. |

Sunil, no worries, the great thing about photography is that you can create what you like and enter it in appropriate competitions. |

Sunil, I love your image! Very cool!
PSA allows any image in Color or Mono to be composites, as long as every aspect of the image in yours. I photographed the sky (I actually have a large library of my textures and my skies that I continue to add to), so I am well within PSA rules.
Certainly, photography is changing quickly, and its up to each photographer to determine what they enjoy and what competitions they choose to compete in. You cannot make appreciable images in Nature, Photojournalism or Travel photography in PSA, as these categories should be true to what you saw. |

Thanks for all the great advice! I've started over with a balloon with separation, and I've cropped to put it on the 1/3. I also used a preset--Artistic 4--to add punch. Thoughts? And I'd love suggestions for improvements, as I'd like to enter one--like the separate one and which brightness? Like the crop? |

Thanks, Jason! I had a separated balloon image I've uploaded below, and I've cropped off some of the balloon (crop more?) and I've added a preset--Artistic 4--for more punch. Thoughts? |

Thanks for your idea to use DeHaze on the Subject. Do you think my image with the little balloon is farther away from the big balloon (separated) is a better composition? |

Thanks! I do have the little balloon separate from the big balloon, but I thought tucked in was better depth perception. Suggest I use the separate image? I'll certainly work with your idea of less in focus a tad in the back. |

Hi Terry,
My husband suggested these changes--
Top left--airspeed at 110 or 120 knots
2nd instrument showing level flight--Tip the right wing down a bit if easy, not not critical
compass--currently at "0", so adding a "9" in front of it would have you heading east, not critical
The engines do show power, so that looks reasonably legit. The other gauges are too small for anyone to pay much attention to, but moving anything off "0" helps not draw the eye.
He loved it!

I would love to to see the Albuquerque festival, but hoping to get with a photo tour that would get me around to the best places for dawn/dusk and skip the madness. Especially since the higher Albuquerque altitude is not a friend with my five heart artery dissections, tripod and camera bag. Did you do it on your own? |

It's really beautiful, Mitch! Almost an abstract! The gold in the sky might be a bit blown out or bright, we'll see what the others think. It's brilliant and hysterical it was your cell phone paining! |

I remember being in this train station many years ago, and its a beauty! Hate those enormous posters they put up. I'd be tempted to black them out, so we see the glass pattern. Another option is to crop to just the center and crop off the posters.
A wonderful rendition of "glass". |

Love it, Terry! I do love the sepia, as it sets the time frame. Great pilot choice, too, he looks young enough to have flown.
Several of your gauges will need to be changed, oil pressure, the artificial horizon needs to show a bit of a turn, due to the angle and the sky. I can have my pilot husband look it over, if you have an interest in setting your gauges and your enactor can't help you. |

Helen, interesting image! Your crazy angle paid off. I'm not sure removing the kickstand and foot helps you, as the bike (look at the tires) is at an angle that its clear he's at a standstill. If you want to remove them, the clone tool is going to work or the "Content Aware Fill".
My suggestion would be to keep it as is, and in Lightroom Select subject, invert, and darken the background to make it more vibrant, or DeHaze might work to make the background darker and richer, making your rider and cycle the focus. |

Sunil, what a lovely image. I like the bleak, peaceful and serene feeling of the original, and I think the extra space at the bottom of the original and enhances the angle of the dead tree. Perhaps splitting the difference might keep the stark feeling of your original.
If you are happy with the revised image, perhaps taking the darkest part of the sky down a bit would make it feel a bit more realistic. I think this has spectacular potential. |

What a beautiful image, Jim. And guess what? I live on the Maumee River in Fort Wayne, Indiana. What a great connection to each other.
Your brightening is perfect. A couple of tiny clean ups--there are a couple of women by the base of the mill that don't really fit the old-time scene. There is also a pipe sticking up back there by the women that you could remove.
I might also might lighten the mules a tad.
It seems a bit crooked, but I think this is due to all the odd angles.
Very peaceful and sweet. |
