Thanks so much, I'm glad you like the colors and feel its balanced. I wasn't feeling like it worked, its really helpful the group felt it was a solid image. |

Love loons, and like Candy, I've not seen one. And you have a loon with a fish!! In PSA Nature, we can't use a vignette, so I'm not a fan of such strong framing. If it were mine, I would use my sharpen brush on the subject and body, and then I would inverse and add a bit of blue or green to the water, or take down the exposure, if you want it natural. Lucky you! |

Interesting idea to crop on the right, Mervyn. I'll play with that. Thanks! |

How special! Isn't she adorable! It looks a tad noisy, if you have Topaz DeNoise, it will be fixed in a jiffy! If you have a bit more room on the right and bottom to give her tail a bit more room, I think it will look even better.
Love it! |

Your photography is improving! Very nicely done. On my screen, it looks a bit too saturated in your sky and flowers, but that's an easy fix. Good job! |

It is a different version of a Great Egret in plumage, so great points for her "lacy veil". I love that you made it into a vertical. |

My favorite by you!! Great light, great details, sweet moment, great colors. The image seems a bit centered, you might want to crop a bit on the right. Beautifully done! |

I like how you chose monochrome for this image, as you have complete values from light to black. The capuchins are very sharp and their expressions are clear. I worked at a zoo and the capuchins were huge troublemakers, and you can see it in their faces! Just looking to cause a big problem! |

Terry, I used some DeHaze, contrast and richened up my blacks below. Do you like it better? Thank you! |

Using everyone's suggestions, I've used some DeHaze, contrast and Blacks to get a bit deeper sky and a richer tone on the birds wings. Like the changes or is it too much? Thanks for all the great feedback! |

Mitch, sorry, I missed your question on back button focus. I have my R5 set up so that the front focus works without eye focus and the back button works with eye focus. So I start with my front focus to get the overall bird flying and then hit the eye focus to see if it can pick up. When birds don't have a distinct eye or the scene is chaotic like this, I find its the best way to grab my focus as quickly as possible and not having it searching all over for an eye that is disappearing. |

You are on the right track! I think you could lighten some of the sky a bit, to show the red off, and the tower can certainly be lit up as it was in the first (not as bright, but still the subject). There are a few very bright white lights that you might want to drop. I think this has incredible potential! |

Thanks so much, Terry! I'll play with the sky a bit more, but its actually quite a bit whiter than what appeared, and if I go too dark, it blends with the birds. I'll try just a bit more color. |

Mitch, I am constantly chasing red wing blackbirds and they are so hard to catch! So often in the brush. Wow, shocked you shot at 1/125 with a big lens...with birds, they recommend shooting around 1/1500 sec, even if on a tripod. But he turned out great!
I agree with Jason, the diagonals are fab. And I like the simplicity. |

Another original image, Jason! I can see what Mitch was looking at, it could be a peaceful and mystical image with the fog and yellow tree and rundown building, but the horizontal pipes (bridge?) do grab the spotlight. Personally, I like where Mitch was going with it, but you very well may NOT want it "pretty".
Definitely meets "atmosphere" with or without the unusual piping. |

VERY cool! I think it's incredible. Where did you get the lightbulb to put the image in?
I can see what Jason is saying, where the outline could be just a bit toned down. And I'd like to see the very bottom of the image fade more into the bottom of the lightbulb.
Now when we come to visit you, we will all be working with models with flour in their hair and learn how to make your lightbulb project!! Bravo! |

Wow, nice save! If you have AI Gigapixel, it will give you a lot more pixels in your crop, so you don't have it soften.
I love Jason's idea tilt. I would tilt it forward, so you get a great diagonal of the branch and a great diagonal of the bird.
I think it's sweet with the caterpillar matching the leaves and bird matching up to the background. Lovely! |
