Thanks, Candy, I will take a look at my original and see if I have more detail. Do you have any suggestions to better remove footprints? Thanks for all your help! |

Pierre, I explained about the time and the hoards of very bad photographers in Mervyn's post, so check that out. Its led by Navajo Indians since its on their property, and you can only go in on their tours. Photographers pay more but have the smallest group size and the best chance to photograph. Its super dark, so a tripod is a must. Two friends just hand carried their cameras and their photos were all dramatically underexposed.

I took the photography tour of Antelope Canyon in late September, so we missed the sun beams. There were tons of people. They put half the photographers on the ground and half of us stood. We had guards keeping people out of each area so we could do a long exposure for each shot. It was insane...tripods with lots of crossed legs, stupid photographers standing up in the middle of your shot, someone walking past the guard, etc. It was really about staying calm under pressure and knowing your gear, cable release and tripod. My friend actually threw her tripod away after trying to photograph since it sucked in this situation. I actually scheduled a second photography tour the next day, since I had a 24-105 on, and decided to use a wide angle the second time. Its really the prettiest place in the world to me. |

Hi dean, My BFR is out of date, but I flew with my first instructor last year and we had a blast (I was 15 when I started and soloed glider, then got private glider at 16, private airplane at 17, commercial glider at 18). Whenever there are puffy clouds with flat bottoms, I get the itch to thermal. |

I like the diagonal of this gorgeous gannet capture. Have you considered flipping it so that the bird is flying left to right (like we read?).
I agree we want a bit more waves to add interest. I like the finished photo's shade of blue over the original.
I'd love to see the eye a bit more defined. Perhaps our other bird experts can address the best way to do that? |

Another gorgeous pic! Beautiful post-processing. Did you use a blend mode to add your sky replacement? |

Where did you find your deer, Pierre? Very crisp and very nice catch light in his eyes. I like how the antlers mimic the dry trees behind him. |

Dean, I'm also a glider pilot--I played for my college as a commercial glider pilot. And we spent a week in a hut on Ambergris Caye since we scuba dive.
I love how you caught the frigates! Great movement. I like both versions, but the starburst has a distracting light/dark ring. The right side also went very dark in the transition. You might consider backing down the effect a bit, so the transition works a bit smoother. |

Great eye, Mervyn! I like how the trees bow a bit in the foreground to create a 'frame' and lead us down the path. Well done! Did you post-process in Snapseed or another app? |

Wow, I completely missed the breast line, she did look tough, I thought she was a smaller guy! In the US, the hat is a bit inflammatory, as there is still a division between the North and the South. Yes, for a model this is a great pic, as it really shows her range. Very captivating photo! |

Abdo, I love horses, so I really enjoy your horse pix! I like Stephen's slight fix, the angle was all that kept it from being perfect. Great light! |

How wonderful to have your camera when you get such an unexpected surprise! I personally really like the golden light. I can't believe you got this crisp of a pic through a car window! I'd love to see a bit more neck, but I know the window hurt your range. And I'd consider giving his antler just a bit more room at the top. |

Terry, interesting to see some of your portraiture! I really like this and how each light makes his face look completely different! Crisp, detailed, and his eyes are still good. With such a striking portrait, how will he use it?
I'm interested in your hat choice. It's the US Civil War hat. If its blue, he is a Union soldier (who voted to free slaves) and if its gray, he is a Confederate, which was pro-slavery. Many slaves were Confederates, as their owners sent them to fight in their place. Interesting choice with the modern leather jacket. |

I really like where you went with this, Richard. Have you considered adding a texture layer to add some interest to the lighter sky? |

What a beautiful photo and what a lovely idea to send out a card with your holiday photo.
A couple of minor suggestions to consider. There is a pink person(?) behind a porch pole that is distracting and you might remove. I would also remove the car on the left, as the rest is so gorgeous.
I'd love to hear more about how you processed the tree. Can you describe your procedure? You did a fantastic job! |
