69 Jun 19 Comment I love the b/w, but the color version is spectacular also! Loved all the comments about the remoteness in the conversation here. Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Comment Flawless! In addition to everyone else's comments, I love your crop and the background blur. Brava! Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Reply Thanks so much for your explanation on how you focus on multiple pieces so you can keep everything sharp. Such fantastic info from you! Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Comment Dean, I really like your choice. The pink flower is dying, so its not as powerful. I think that cropping up might make it more compelling. I love the smaller flower included. I agree it looks a little bright. It's really a beautiful pic and I think you have a beautiful capture. Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Comment Wow, I missed the fish in the first pic! I think that the color cast and other changes made the fish show up so much more! Nice updates to a wonderful pic! Thanks for suggesting AI Noise in Topaz, Candy. I have it and didn't know if it was the best. Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Reply Thanks so much, Dean! Yes, the crowds are awful! But I think I became a better photographer trying to figure out how to shoot in such a difficult situation. Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Reply Thanks so much, Donna! Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Reply Thanks so much, Mervyn! Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Reply Thanks, Candy! Big improvement! How do I do a High Pass Filter? Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Reply Texture brush might be great for my rocks here. I haven't used it enough to give any advice, but there are several You Tube videos with some tips. I love www.KillerLightRoomTips.com and its written by Adobe! Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Reply Geoffrey, there are a zillion articles if you google Antelope Canyon with many suggestions on how to get the best pix and the best time of year. Here's one--https://digital-photography-school.com/10-quick-tips-for-photographing-antelope-canyons/ Jun 16th
69 Jun 19 Comment What a wonderful photo and sorry to hear about your camera! Congrats on your photo accomplishments!

It's a beautiful photo, so nicely balanced with the dark on each side, the white in the clouds, and wonderful lines in the sand, both dramatic and subtle. Fabulous!

69 Jun 19 Reply Geoffrey, Thanks so much! Upper Antelope Canyon is amazing, I hope you'll get there soon! Plan on going back twice, as the first time is a bit of a shock with all the tourists and photographers--I got much better pix after looking at my first batch. A wide angle lens is a must. Time of year makes a big difference in the light. Jun 2nd
69 Jun 19 Comment What a stunning shot, Candy! Do you feel you get a sharper pic with two photos instead of a deeper depth of field? Would you use this technique if you weren't at 300 mm? Very powerfully done. Jun 2nd
69 Jun 19 Comment Nice capture, Pierre! We have some real bird experts, so I'll let them offer a profession opinion. It seems a bit soft. I'd add some selective sharpening to make your bird more sharp. I'd also consider a tighter crop since the sky doesn't add anything. I'd also consider noise reduction, since the sky seems noisy. It's an interesting angle and his wings are in a great position. Jun 2nd
69 Jun 19 Comment Wow, the osprey was bright yellow? I've never seen that. I find the noise to be very distracting. Maybe run noise software on the sky. I'd be tempted to separate the head from the wing with just a bit of outlining to create more separation. I'd also be tempted to brush a bit more sharpness on the wings and eye.

Great capture and the pine branch is a nice addition. Can't wait to go out with you here!

78 Jun 19 Reply Oooh, thanks so much! I'm going to email your comments to our members! I agree its a wonderful group! Jun 18th
78 Jun 19 Reply Stephen, thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you! Jun 18th
78 Jun 19 Reply Thanks for your thoughts! I'll give darkening a try. Jun 18th
78 Jun 19 Comment Here she is in monochrome, which solves some problems. Thoughts? Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Comment Same photo, but added a new NIK recipe to make her more mysterious. Too much, I think. Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Comment Thanks so much for encouraging me to try some changes! That's why I love our group! Here her cloak is much whiter, the sky is cropped and her navel bulge is gone. I've warmed her up a bit. Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Comment I love going after the Empress Tarot card feel, thanks for identifying that! Maybe unsaturating the photo to bring up textures. Trying some things and posting shortly. Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Reply Terry, I hadn't noticed how far off my whites got until your correction, so thanks for that!~ I like the ray idea, but the light was falling from her left, so it doesn't work as nicely as yours does. Some new ideas posted shortly. Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Reply I think removing the sky and the navel bulge are great ideas, thanks. Posting new ideas shortly. Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Reply I think the crop solves a lot of problems...posting some options shortly. Thanks for the idea. Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Reply Thanks, Abdo. I wish I had thought to use a wider f/stop to blur my background. I'm working on a revised version. Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Comment This turned into a great discussion! Thanks everyone! Very interesting idea, Richard! Jun 17th
78 Jun 19 Comment Wonderful for you to challenge yourself! Can you explain how you processed him to get this look? Perhaps show us your original? The beard texture is awesome, but his skin seems a little overdone?

We'd love to learn how you did this!

78 Jun 19 Comment I adore the ducklings and the center duckling has a fabulous expression. The blurred mom is a bit distracting, but she can't be cropped out, as her reflection runs into her kids.

The mom might be distracting since she is going a different direction from the ducklings. It might be interesting to flip her, and see if that unites the subjects better.

Bravo on getting very low to get the shot!

78 Jun 19 Comment Terry, Wow, interesting they put these on the beach! I like your reflection work. What is the green stuff, seaweed? It looks a bit unnatural and distracting, maybe darken a bit.

I like the sky in your original. I might add more interest to the sky by moving your original clouds into the cropped version or painting some.

Bravo for picking an unusual subject and working it!

78 Jun 19 Comment Wow, Beijing is going modern from my only visit in 2000. I love the shape and the woman moving adds a lot in perspective and interest.

I agree with you that it needs more contrast. I would use Nik Silver Efx Pro, but we have some amazing monochrome artists in our group, so I'll wait to hear what our group experts say!

78 Jun 19 Comment Sunil, a very different photo from you! It seems overly bright on my screen. I'm interested in the technique you used to "light the interior" of the chili. The giant chili is quite interesting. Jun 2nd
78 Jun 19 Comment I like the changes you and Sunil made to it. I like your later colors more than your first processed piece. Once again, I like you looking around for new things to shoot. Sunil has done a great job showing you about straightening the walls, which is critical in architectural and linear work. Nice job! Jun 2nd
78 Jun 19 Reply Yes, thats a good idea, Sunil. I will look at some of my other pix and see if I have any others with a more out of focus background. Or I'll try blurring this background. Jun 2nd
78 Jun 19 Reply Thanks for trying HDR on it, Alan! I was actually going the opposite way, with out of focus. Jun 2nd
