Candy, take a look at the modified edge effect I posted in the comments and see what you think. Better? Too obvious I modified it? |

I used everyone's comments and took down the old film vignette. Does this work? I've also attached my straight out of camera photo for comparison. Thanks for all the feedback! |

You definitely have captured the foggy mood! The albatross is a bit disturbing, I kept trying to see if it was a windsurfer or a rock or a buoy. I don't know if there is a way to make the albatross stand out more or if you might have a pic where he isn't so close to the water and we know it is a bird?
Lovely! |

An amazing photo! I love the changes with your background and with bringing the backlight through the wings. I do agree with Rob that the smoke by his head does seem out of place. Other than that, its perfect! |

I've never seen a Bufflehead before! The out of focus water in the foreground is distracting, so I would crop that out, and maybe bring Buffle closer, by cropping more. I would sharpen just the bird a bit, and really show us his beauty. Well done! |

Love this! Can't believe the stars and Mercury, and positioned so perfectly with our eyes drawn in. I think you did a beautiful job processing this. I, too, would be tempted to lighten the foreground just a tiny bit, but I think your restraint is to be commended. |

I agree the diagonal and stick add a lot to your photo. Perhaps brushing him with some sharpening might bring out more of the feather texture? I'd also be tempted to bring out the wings shadows in just a few more places, so we see some more of what goes on under the wings. Awesome bird!
