Lucky you! And a catchlight in her eye, too! I like the composition and her environment. Perhaps use the rule of thirds instead of putting her in the center? I think you could crop some from behind, and perhaps the top that Donna mentioned. Or add a bit more to move her off of center. This may add to her feeling of flight, which it sounds like she was not an easy shot. You might want to selectively brush her with some Sharpening, I think her feathers would stand out with just a bit more. Usually, one would think to tone down the bright spots (moss), but I like the interest it adds to your composition. Well done! |

Beautiful, Donna. Fascinating feather detail, and her curves hold our attention. Being super picky, it seems a bit warm to me, but I like the effect. I also feel it might be worth considering adding just a bit more room on top, bottom and right; she feels a bit cramped to me. |

I really enjoy this! Her back feathers visible while she is in water is very interesting and allows for good lines up her neck and to her dancing fish! The water ripples add interest and keep us focused on the subject. I also find the reflection to add a lot to the composition. Beautiful! |

I've never seen this duck, thanks for the introduction. I do agree with Donna on all points. A crop, some increased sharpening and contrast and vignetting will help. |

Dean, its just a great composition, just so sad it is soft. It's worth increasing contrast to add dimension and then try some sharpening to see if it assists. Maybe a highpass? |

Darkening around your egret and cropping were great post-process choices. I'm shocked, I didn't know they did this. I appreciate your tip on manual exposure to get a white bird. No suggestions for changes. |
