How did I miss commenting on this earlier? Maybe it came in late as I was early on my comments? Sorry! I agree the crop moves this into a wonderful capture. The face details are a bit difficult to discern on my screen, maybe selectively open the shadows around his eyes a touch so we see those huge eyes staring at us? Sweet capture! |

I can't believe I missed getting this reviewed earlier! I love it! Fabulous catchlight in the eyes and the snow flakes add so much. |

I've included another owl pattern I added that gave a very different feel to it. I find this very interesting, but too different? |

Since Dean and Donna found the owl too warm, I took some of the gold textures off the owl. Do you enjoy this better? |

Congrats on getting chosen! I didn't know PSA had a Facebook page, I am now following it! Great capture! Where did you get this photo? Everything is in perfect focus. The colors are wonderful and the light coming though the wings is fabulous.
I am distracted with the brighter top and bottom lights, I'd be tempted to burn them down a bit. I keep looking for antenna and legs? |

I just love this and how you simplified a busy image. The dark background sets off your egret. The stick in his mouth repeats the stick-like legs. The "blue" in the wings doesn't bother me at all, it appears more gray on my screen and does feel like a water reflection.
I am not familiar with what "double processed" and "a stroke was added to separate it from the background" means. You can email me if the answers to this aren't relevant to the group. |

Silver backed jackals are one of my favorite animals. Nice catch lights in the eyes. The photo seems a bit flat on my screen. Perhaps upping the contrast on the tone curve? I'd also consider burning down the gravel so it doesn't distract from your capture. |

I agree with Donna's assessment. Well done and with the highlights and hot spot toned down, you have a winner. |
