Mervyn, I have agreed with you on every photo! I thought, "Great capture, but I don't like it dead center! I want to see his speed!", and Mervyn said the same thing.
I don't think the vignette is too much at all, very lightly applied. One option would be to use a bit more sharpening on the birds feathers, but your white balance, colors, depth of field and focus are all lovely. The beak seems a bit bright on my monitor, especially in relation to his feet, but I don't know the bird,so its beak may be this bright. |

Welcome, Donna! I had no idea there are a lot of elk in Benezette! Wonderful capture, looks like you were close...you don't say what your mm was? Looks like you were low, so he looks huge and as threatening as they really are! I agree with Mervyn, his lady does seem blocked up and a little more definition under her belly would help the shot. I'd love to see a bit more definition on his body...his coat is crisp hanging off of him, so perhaps brushing him with Clarity or Sharpen might add a bit more detail to his face and neck. The fog is a lovely addition. |

Candy, how do you make your choice on when to flip?
I agree with Mervyn that your texture work adds so much to the photo and still feels like an untouched nature photo. I did not know there were great egrets with lime green lores! Beautiful work, as always! |

I would never have known this was a bracketed exposure! I agree with Mervyn that the roots are awesome and its a nice landscape.
I wish there was more of the tree top, it feels a little chopped off to me. Maybe darken a bit at the top, so our eye doesn't travel up the tree trunk and off the top of the photo? Also, I feel it is a bit crooked...I think its just the tree, but the trunk is such a powerful part of the composition that its lean is a little distracting.
Are you getting chromatic aberration around the tree branches where they meet sky (an odd extra blue)? There is a check box in LightRoom under your camera lens choice that will automatically remove that for you, if that is what it is. Lovely! |

I'd say the moon is spectacular! Beautiful interest, great depth, interesting color.
I've wanted a shot like this but thought I'd need bigger lenses...I guess not! I am shocked its not a long exposure to let in enough light! Can you post the original? Or email BrendaFishbaugh@gmail.com with it to get an idea of what it would look like on the back of my camera? You didn't try to get any trees, etc in the pic? Awesome! |

Beautiful shot, and unusual with the nest at the top of the photo. Great catchlight in her eye, nice focus and depth of field, some nice green tones in the background. No suggestions for improvement...you did a great job with it! |

Thanks for the compliments, Mervyn. I highly recommend it, although it is with a photo tour and you have 3 minutes at each spot and tons of people walking through, so you have to shoot high for your 30 second shots to avoid "ghosts". Some climbing over rocks and tight spaces. Nerves of steel needed, a few inexperienced photographers freaked out at the crossed tripods and timed shoots and didn't know their tripods or cameras well enough to pull it off. I would look online for best times...light beams are "the thing" to catch, and none were around when we were there in early October. |
