Candy, wonderful moment! Did you outline him to remove the busy background, or did you darken? Love the lit wings and the "almost there" look of it. Perfect bird retouching. I was distracted by the tiny stick and junk in the water, as my eye looked at water drops, I seemed to have found everything that wasn't a waterdrop! You might consider removing those. |

Love this plant! I like it in color and in b/w. I like the interesting spiky leaves in the color version, and would consider adding them into the b/w version. The leaves add great leading lines into the clusters. My only suggestion is to add more contrast and sharpen, so we get more of a pop. I think this will increase the beauty in both monochrome and color.
For wind shake, there is a Photoshop filter that helps with this, Filters>Sharpen>Shake reduction. It's very helpful if you are shaky (when we are old) or our subject is shaky. |

What a great capture! I like your crop, and might even suggest a bit more of the sky removed. The overall bird exposure seems a bit low to me, and I would never have seen the snake if you hadn't mentioned in it. You might consider lightening the bird and the snake a bit. It's a great moment, all nicely in focus, situated in the wild, and we really need the impact from the capture (yours and the goshawk's!).
On my monitor, the beak and legs look VERY orange, but I know African birds can have exaggerated colors. Can't wait to see more Namibia photos! |
