My attention is immediately drawn to the graceful unfurling of the bird's wings. The diagonal stretch from "toes" through beak and the repetition of splashes of gold from the legs up through the beak takes me up, up and away. There is mystery in this powerful story: is the bird ascending joyfully into its day, or fleeing from an unseen danger. I suggest a tighter crop top and bottom to better reveal, through enlargement, the wonderful detail in the bird, and to remove some of the green at the bottom. I would also increase the contrast between the bird's wings and the sky, perhaps by increasing the subtle blue tone of the sky, or by intensifying the white of the bird. This image invites contemplation, and would grace any wall. |

Wonderful landscape. The layered transition through strips of water, land, tree line, mountains holds my attention and draws it into the subtle glow of the rising sun. The play of light on the mountains' snow and green vegetation evokes the excitement of a day about to begin. I agree with Sharon's suggestion. A bit more detail in those areas would enhance this marvelous image even further. |

Outstanding capture! That pouch is amazing. I could not figure out what I was looking at until I read your description. The expectant look on the two white birds is priceless. I agree with the suggestion to crop out the top vegetation. |

That pattern in the sand is wonderful. I would try restoring the detail in the foreground sand, and letting it fade as it approaches the water. What do the water and sky look like in the original? I think a gradual transition from detail in the sand to misty water and sky would enhance the dreamy effect created by the baren beach. |

I Love this image. It evokes thoughts of fairy lights in a dark forest, and is a great prompt for a story. The subtle detail brought out in the water adds to the sense of mystery. I think I see goblins lurking in the background. |

The happy expression on this bird is contagious. The flapping of those wings, suggested by the slight blur, adds to the merriment. The detail in the body feathers and that sharp eye are excellent. The simplicity of the brown and blue color palette is restful and pleasing, and provides the perfect backdrop for the playful activity. The reflection adds symmetry and interest. I would crop a bit from the top to strengthen the vertical symmetry. |

I love your interpretation too. In mine I actually intensified those white areas for the high key look that reflected my dim memory of Spring on that snowy cold day. The many different ways in which a simple photo can be seen is always amazing to me. Many thanks for sharing yours. |

I love the contrasting elements in this image. The foreground is reminiscent of a spring meadow, while behind it lies a desolate cluster of rocks and mountains. What are the foreground flowers? The shapes, but not the color are like Queen Ann's Lace which is white. On the left is a strip of sand that brings to mind desert, but to its right lies the frothing ocean. The image induces contemplation, the very thing for slowing down when all about us is chaos. |

This image is an excellent example of situational irony. The Happy Holidays banner over the zoomed chaos sums up what Christmas can become if we allow ourselves to be swept up in the madness. May your holidays be peaceful Karl. |
