That is a tree with attitude! One must wonder what factors caused the rakish angles of its growth. I think the bit of blue sky and its reflection in the water frame the tree nicely. The light on the tree draws my attention, and its shape has activated my imagination.

Welcome to DD 52!! Your image evokes strong emotion. The wide-eyed look of anticipation on the pup, the mother's slit-eyed look of exhaustion, and the action in their flippers are wonderful. Your crop provides the viewer with intimacy. This is a special moment masterfully captured. |

This image has a wonderful feeling of spaciousness. The misty mountains resolve upward to those crisp snow-covered peaks which pierce that dynamic sky. The trees on the left add perspective. I think I'll head for shelter. |

Wonderful capture of that bird. He is tack sharp, and looks like a bird on a mission. I actually prefer your original image. In it he looks as though he were strutting along that handrail. The handrail and strip of dark water together with the blurred fence in the background serve as leading lines that intersect to the left and out of the image at a point that may be his destination. |

I love this image. The warm color and detail in his fur against the stark white snow are wonderful. The coyote's intense stare and forward motion create mystery and cause me to wonder where he is heading and whom is he stalking. |

This image is beautiful and reminiscent of oil paintings. The warm colors, light, tonal range, mist and textures combine to create an affect of mystery and meditation. Your edited version will look terrific as a canvas print on your wall. |

Thank you so much Pamela. I knew I liked those stems, and you saw why - they do look like glass art. I NEVER toss "dead" plants. Very often they surprise me and make a comeback. Even when they are really dead they assume marvelous shapes that spark creativity.

WOW! I missed that shrimp and fish. Thanks for seeing them. YES-those artifacts are jarring. BUT as you said they do create that unusual look. Thank you so much for your comment on creativity VS realism. Both are grand, but indeed I do strive for a creative view of reality. |

Thanks Polly. I did experiment with those stems and in the end went with the version posted. That each image has many interpretations is one of the joys of fine art photography. |

Stunning flower! It glows and almost pops right out of my screen. How did you light the flower? It is very bright and looks backlit. What was the brown background; was it added in post? How did you process the image? I would try to remove or tone down the flowers in the background. Although they are very soft, they are very bright and tend to pull my eyes from the subject. Great idea to plant them next to stairs. A friend, Susan Gabay-Laughnan, a botanist offered: "Botany lesson - Hellebore flowers usually face downwards. This is a natural growth pattern to protect the blooms from rain, sleet, and snow since water sheds well off the downward facing blooms." |

Very expressive. The monochrome conversion works well. The images are tack sharp, not an easy feat for a self portrait. The magnified eye in the center image is particularly impressive. It is reminiscent of Gandalf. A technical and creative masterpiece. |

Quite mysterious. The vertical flip changes the story, for me, from one of athleticism to a rescue. Hands are pulling the figure from a murky abyss. The high level of grain adds to this interpretation. |

I like the texture of the original background and the colors of the processed version. Combining them would be great. I like a 90 degree rotation. Very creative. |
