Many thanks Ally. I had not seen this creature before either. I will be on the lookout for him this spring.

I LOVE this image! I am amazed that the head and nesting material are sharp while the wings are a blur of movement that adds a fourth dimension, time, to the image. The blur of background tones is pleasing, and the parallel lines add to the feeling of movement. And then there is the mystery: there appears to be a baby bird with an orange beak and black cap lying on his back and tucked under the right wing. |

Nice documentary shot of a visitor to your garden's bird bath. I like the repetition of color and texture in the bird breast and concrete. The focus on the bird and catch light in the eye are great. The beige color of the bird and bath are complemented by the blue sky reflection in the water. The blue is a bit too bright and could be toned down. The rim of the birdbath in the background has a halo. I would remove it. Bravo for doing away with the old deck and creating a bird sanctuary garden. |

Lovely seascape. The beach forms a strong leading line. The in-focus foreground rocks and greenery lend depth. The blush of pink in the sky adds interest. The image has restful affect due to the near monochrome blue cast. Mike's version is also lovely. The warming produces a different, more energetic affect. The large rock mid left looks a bit like an ancient head emerging from the ground. When noticed, it adds a sense of mystery. |

Wonderful portrait. I do love squirrels. In Chicago where I grew up they were all red. Then in Kentucky they were grey. Your pal looks like my friends here in DE. It is almost as though they were a hybrid with red head, back and inner tail, while the rest is grey. Very colorful. I agree that the vignette could be lightened. |

BRILLIANT! Every aspect is perfect. Did you shoot this outside with natural light? If not what was the light source. I too want to try this technique. You have inspired me. Thank you. |

WONDERFUL landscape. For me this image has qualities of fine art pictorialism. I particularly like your enlargement of the moon; it brings to mind the landscapes of Ansel Adams. The golden light on the grass moves my eye through the image as it begins in the lower left and then spreads diagonally and up to the right where that grand asymmetric tree draws my eye up to the moon. The winding path that Mike spotted also leads to the asymmetric tree. I like the way that is fades off into the left from its brighter origin/end at the tree. I am not certain that it needs further definition. The mist looks wispier in the original. I would feather it out to regain that effect. This image will look great on canvas. |

Wow, your post processing really made him fierce. The yellow eyes are much more piercing. Thanks for sharing the original. He is a beautiful animal. |

Wonderful colors and textures. This was not "dirty birdbath ice" but, a frozen pallet in which you saw an abstract. The sharper focus on the small leaf on the right gives the impression that it is near or on the surface while the larger leaf appears deeply imbedded. The backlighting and processing give a pleasing glow to the leaves, and the orange against the blue sky is striking. This is a good example of an image that breaks the rule of thirds - and works. |

Wonderful image that holds my attention and sparks my imagination. So many stories here. The tones, contrasts, motion, positions of the subjects and simplicity are outstanding. How did you move the camera/lens? |

Striking image. The angle at which you shot it is perfect.
The tones are beautiful and the lighting gives the petals a glow. The receding focus gives depth. There is a rhythm in the graceful flow of the petals, and the movement takes the eye throughout the image. The crop does seem a bit tight. I like the border. When my eye begins at the base of the flower, center bottom, and moves upwards, a graceful long hand seems to be lifting the two horizontal petals. |

The high key and minimalist qualities of this image captured my attention, and then I began to see all kinds of things. My first thought was Ukraine and Russia. What editing did you do in post processing? The seeds seem a bit soft. What did you focus on and was it manual or auto focus? Hand held? Bravo on an imaginative image rich in interpretation. |

Powerful! A great cover picture for an appropriate novel. I feel his intensity. I love your crop and the tilt of his head. AND it is tack sharp. Can we see the original? I would love to see his unaltered eye color. |
