It's all about that eye! One could read so many different expressions into that eye. The contrast in texture between the blurred branch and sharp feathers, the unequal repetition of color (the branch has more brown than grey and the owl more grey than brown) are pleasing. The green background works very well and picks up hues in the eye. The blurred feathers on the bottom left of the owl are a detraction. I would try to lighten them, or experiment with a tighter crop to eliminate them. |

Priceless expression on that blue fish. The sharp detail on the fish and foreground elements together with the background bokeh are pleasing and give depth to the image. The colors are wonderful. The sponge and coral form a nice diagonal that adds to the composition. Great shot. |

Beautiful flower and great crop. I agree with Mike on removing the leaf (actually there are two that I would remove or darken; the second is upper center and blurred), and darkening the background, especially the upper left. I also think selective adjustment of the light in the flower would enhance the image. |

I love that water. The colors and silky swirls are very pleasing. Your crop works well, but I love the tree in the upper right of the original. I think cropping from the left and preserving that tree would generate another fine image. I agree with Mkke that the light should be adjusted. The water looks fine, but the sky, Half Dome and adjacent mountains look almost overexposed in your edited version. Just as an aside, your title is intriguing. I can't decide whether you meant that the sunset was half done, or the word processor mutated Dome to Done. |

This is a beautiful flower. I like that the blossom, one bud and some of the leaves are in sharp focus. I agree with Mike about adding some space below. I like the arc of the stem and the diagonal formed by the leaves, bud and blossom. I love the background in your creative version. The color is softer and complements the flower in an artistic way. I like the "out of bounds" concept here, but I think I would try to enhance the contrast between the canvas and outer frame by lightning the frame. Also, I would remove the line around the canvas. There are two lovely images here and it will be interesting to see which one has the most exhibit appeal. |

You have created two very different images here. The titled version looks like a winter scene of blowing snow seen through a wet window. The more I look at it the more I like it. By contrast the version labeled original looked better at first because it is not blurred, and the reflections in the water were more prominent. However, the texture used here is distracting. Can you show us the original image, and provide the technical details (camera, settings, lens, post processing)? |

INCREDIBLE! Your camera position was wonderful. This image is indeed a rabbit hole. Each tile I observe grabs my attention and takes me deep inside it. Especially powerful is the "hole" bottom center. The 3_D effect is great. The image has a pleasing overall symmetry offset effectively by the asymmetry of that bottom center hole. AND the colors are grand. Do you have a picture of that ball from the outside? How large was it? Where was the hole you placed your camera in? FASCINATING fractals. The two decagons top L and R have stairways descending into the rabbit hole. They even get smaller the farther away they are. GREAT job! |

This image really holds my attention. The concept, and your execution of it are ingenious. The extension of the red lips into the B&W half of the face is very effective. The sharp edge of the B&W half is jarring and really brings out the idea of two character states. I might also try blurring that edge and making it uneven to suggest fluctuations in the manifestations of the two personalities. |

WONDERFUL image! I particularly love the detail that has been preserved. The more I look at it the more I see: hands, eyes, masks. Yet all has an etherial affect. This is a GREAT image! You said you used ICM here. Did you move the camera or lens, or was the motion the result of the long exposure and the dancer's movements? |
