52 Aug 21 Reply Thanks for your suggestions. The "stake" is actually the stem. In discussions of previous images it was suggested that I include stems for a more natural balanced look. Thus here I tried leaving it in, and I liked it. I do however need to do a better job of cleaning it. YES: photoshop has ways of producing less sharp borders. I am currently studying them in my PSA photoshop class and hopefully can incorporate these tools in subsequent images. Aug 27th
52 Aug 21 Comment The contrast between the barren rocks and the dazzling sky is wonderful. The shooting star is a special element and it serves many roles: it is a rare and fleeting event that adds great interest; together with the water it forms a diagonal; though but a fine streak, it balances the galaxy and hints at a triangle. I would keep it! There is a faint and subtle pink in the galaxy AND also in some of the rocks that, together with the shooting star produces a pleasant feeling of excitement. Aug 20th
52 Aug 21 Comment Wonderful action shot. He appears to be running to escape the oncoming waves. I tried a tighter crop and I flipped the fellow horizontally for a left to right motion. Aug 20th
52 Aug 21 Comment I love this peek into a special spot in nature. The colors, patterns, textures, diagonal elements, and that eye! Really outstanding. Aug 20th
52 Aug 21 Comment The fading, hazy rows of mountains lend both a mysterious and ethereal quality to this peaceful image. Well done! Aug 20th
52 Aug 21 Comment Exciting moment beautifully captured. Your crop and rotation are perfect. Often bright elements in the background are indeed distracting. However, to my eyes the bright flower and leaves draw my attention from the dark upper background to the butterflies, and in addition provide interesting compositional features: the two butterflies and the flower on which they are perched form a pleasing triangle; also, my eyes' journey begins at the orange tip on the butterfly wing on the left, travels to the white marking on the butterfly wing on the right, continues in an arc downward through the bright green leaf and blurred flower, left through the in-focus flower and back to the orange markings on the wing at the left to form a circle of eye movement. Finally the green leaf edge at top right forms a lovely diagonal with the butterflies. I would not alter the image. Aug 20th
52 Aug 21 Reply GREAT suggestion. I will try.

52 Aug 21 Reply THANKS ALLY. I will try muting that original background because I really like. I agree that a macro lens would have been great. Aug 7th
52 Aug 21 Comment Thanks for the encouragement Mike! I will remove those spots as you suggested.

79 Aug 21 Reply Thank you so much for your comments, suggestions and especially for your creative interpretation. I shall juxtapose this image with the one I posted last month of the detached Barbie doll head. Aug 28th
79 Aug 21 Reply Thanks! Indeed this image was not intended as realism. The blur, for me, enhanced the feeling of fantasy which was my artistic goal here. Aug 28th
79 Aug 21 Reply Thanks! I too liked the blur of the gnome as it added, for me, a feeling of mystery. I love your interpretation that he is in jail. This is what I love about fine art. There are as many ways of seeing an image as viewers. Aug 28th
79 Aug 21 Reply You have presented an interesting challenge. I meant this image to be playful, but I have an idea for quite a different image now. THANK YOU. Aug 28th
79 Aug 21 Comment The light is wonderful! This is another photograph that has a wealth of different interpretations. I like Peter's interpretation and I would prefer it flipped as Sandra suggested. There is a nice diagonal formed by the leaf and baubbles lower right and proceeding through the main lilly, blurred pink, and sharp pink flowers that lead to the upper left. I would try emphasizing them by removing or toning down as Karl suggested the vertical leaf and bits of lilly in the lower left corner. Aug 21st
79 Aug 21 Comment Profoundly haunting. Intriguing. The addition of the face is artistically and technically masterful, and it adds a profound dimension. I pondered the image long before I read your description. The line of light that leads to the open door at the apex of the triangle imparts a feeling of hope. This is a very special and very creative image. Aug 21st
79 Aug 21 Comment Great diversity of interpretations in your original image. Many tones, colors and crops. All are/would be interesting and pleasing. In-camera motion blur is a wonderful art and you have executed it well. Aug 21st
79 Aug 21 Comment Wonderful explosion of color. I like the crop in the edited version. There is an interesting illusion of an almost mirror image. What were your camera settings? What was the lighting? Aug 21st
79 Aug 21 Comment Wonderful transformation of an aquarium scene into an OtherWorldly fantasy. Your edited version does indeed pack a punch. AND of course it's Picard struggling to escape the man-eating Venusian tentacles. Great job.
You described well your post processing. Could you provide the camera/sens/setting details?

79 Aug 21 Reply Karl, THANK YOU! I shall try all of your suggestions tonight and post the results. I do think that the large number of steps reflects my bumbling rather than an advanced PS. I WILL improve!! Aug 9th
