AMAZING shot. The combination of the action, sharp focus, the light on the bird and stem, and the bokeh with lens flair produce a dramatic image. The crop is perfect. The stem serves as a dual compositional element: a diagonal and a leading line straight to the bird's beak. The contrasting orange/green colors, and the repetition of the light beige color in the birds's wings, beak and lens flair are all very pleasing. I really like this image! |

An Avian rumble! Love your title. The simplicity of the uncluttered sky emphasizes the action. The birds are rather soft, but the image has that wonderful "street photography" feel to it. |

Great detail on the bee. What camera/lens did you use? I like your crop and adjustments. I think you have a second image here. I would try a tighter crop. Take more off the bottom and left side, leave just a hint of the purple flowers, and flip horizontally as in the attached example, and decrease the highlights lower center for an intimate portrait of that fuzzy head. |

This image is all about those avian expressions. That mother looks like she is scolding her son; and he has that look of "what? I didn't do it?" You have captured an interesting moment in time. Your crop works well. |

These birds do indeed tend to pose stationary. Great that you captured some action. I wonder why he is picking at that leaf. Nesting? A bug? I need to learn more about these striking birds. The star of this image is the light that causes the red tips to glow as if on fire. The feathers are all in great focus. The color contrast of the orange wing feathers against the pale blue sky is great. I love the minimalist feel of the image. I would try to enhance the effect by eliminating the two branches to the left of the main stem, and also the two branches at the top of the glowing feathers. |

Wonderful motion and color and texture. I love experimenting with ICM, but I have never tried it on people. Great idea. |

Peter, what a fine thing to do on a gloomy day. Can you post the original image? The pepper on the left has great potential. The shape and texture are really interesting. The pepper on the right holds much less interest. I would try eliminating it and focusing on the more interesting curvy pepper. Are the black dots on the pepper itself, or light effects. The curvy pepper looks like it might have some very interesting texture that could be enhanced by playing with the light and some focus stacking. I would also try different positions of the pepper as the shadow also looks very interesting. |

Fascinating colors. In most of the infrared images I have seen green leaves are rendered white. How did you achieve that hue? I would remove the stems and their leaves to the right of the main bud, and tone down the light blotches the top to give greater emphasis to the peony. I might leave the thick stem that runs diagonally bottom left to upper right as a compositional element. I like the partially obscured bud that glows beneath the main bud. Did you crop the image? Is there such a thing as an original with infrared". |

This image is great fun. I too see many different things, mostly creatures. The bird adds a pleasing element of asymmetry. The original image has lots of potential as well. I might try blurring the grass and trees. |
