What a peaceful spot. The two versions of this image evoke different feelings. The NIK filter yields warmer colors and gives more of a "its morning lets get going" excitement. The colors of the original image are cooler, and the image seems sharper. The water in particular looks more interesting in the original. Also, the lights along and at the end of the pier are more visible in the original. I prefer the original; it has a calmer "I am resolved to create something this day" feel. I bet sunset at that location is also beautiful. |

WONDERFUL! The color canon causes my eyes to dance around this image. The green of the leaves is repeated in the birds' faces and legs, while the browns in the birds' bodies is repeated in the log. the image is tack sharp, and eyes are penetrating. The reflections in the water evoke a dreamy feeling. I would not change a thing. |

What a magical place. The path provides a wonderful leading line that beckons. Upon enlargement the image is somewhat soft, but you have captured the feeling of an early and rainy Spring day. The wildflower display is lovely. |

I do love toads! This fellow's green face and golden eye socket are especially fetching. Great job removing the grasses. I actually prefer the original shot for it shows him in his environment, and is thus more interesting. If you go with the cropped version I suggest removing the green grass center top. The grass pulls my eye from the green face. If you go with the un-cropped version I would remove the grasses near his body, but keep those in upper right. Have you named him? Is it indeed a him? |

Wonderful action shot! I especially like the expressions on these animals, and the wispy tail action. Good job blurring the background. Even the grass right under their feet is soft. For my eyes the background is a bit too bright, and distracts from the subjects. Also, there is a halo over the zebra pack on the upper left that is distracting. I love your title. |

Beautiful artistic shot! Masterful removal of the branch. The simplicity, color and background are reminiscent of Albrecht Durer nature paintings. When I initially studied the image, I considered suggesting that the eye be enhanced. Eyes have been a consistent subject of discussion. However, for me this image is about the graceful shape of the bird and the subtle warm colors. Therefore, I would not change a thing. The parallel and diagonal lines formed by the bird's beak and neck, and the branches lead right to those graceful wings. This image will look wonderful in your gallery show. |
