WONDERFUL capture of the spirit of the forest!! I agree with Sharon that the distortion generates a powerful sense of being drawn into a lovely green vortex. The green moss and trees, smooth rocks, silk water, and splashes of light that filter through the trees all beckon. I would love to be in that forest right now.
Congratulations on your award. Thanks for the link to your Facebook Page. Your photographs are amazing. I am learning much from studying them.

MAGNIFICANT!!! Otherworldly.
During the eclipse I opted to focus on the projected images generated by overlapping tree leaves. I had visions of getting wonderful abstract patterns, but in the end my images were unremarkable. Your image is remarkable. AND it was handheld. Congrats! |

Lovely landscape shot. Nice leading lines and partial vanishing point. Great reflection and blue/green colors. When I enlarged the image I saw a filmy halo at the treetops. I rather like the moon and would not remove it. I also would not remove the white streaks in the sky. There are floating debris in the water below, so why not leave the streaks and moon in the sky. |

Carol, how grand to be able to see the detailed molting on this magnificent deer.
He does indeed look like he is about to call out--perhaps in frustration from the intense itching a good molt produces. I agree that bringing out the clouds has made the sky more interesting. And lessening the shadow on his face brought out some detail. On my screen the image looks a bit soft and there appears to be a halo along the upper neck. The overall composition is very nice. The low angle places most of the body against the sky, and he has lots of room to run to the left. AND I like the blue/beige color scheme. I hope you have an opportunity to recapture him at the lower F stope/faster speeds you discussed. |

What a beautiful wing spread! AND the heart formed by the neck and beak and their reflection is lovely. I too think the adjusted image is better--but I love the original as well. I think the partial reflection gives more room for the lovely wings to be seen in detail. Including the entire reflection would produce an interesting image, but it would also reduce the size of the bird in the overall image. |

Many thanks Carol. It WAS a quick opportunity, and a miracle that the settings I was using were perfect for the occasion. I will try adding some warmth.
