Many thanks!! I will try your strategies on the next moth/butterfly that I encounter. I will revert to the original version of the image I submitted and try the adjustments that have been suggested. |

Many thanks! You have inspired me to attempt to transform this image into a stunning one. I have never seen a luna moth, but I think they are significantly larger than the moth shown here.

Thanks for your suggestions. I too liked the original and I had a hard time deciding whether to go for the moth in its environment or the moth details. How would you go about selectively toning down the background? |

Many thanks for your comments. You are right, had I used a tripod the focus would have been sharper. I'll play with the contrast and see what it looks like. |

Many thanks for your suggestions. I will try the settings you mentioned. I was uneasy about using flash as this fellow had just emerged and I did not want to harm his eyes. |

Lisa, what a beautiful creature. The bright turquoise streaks and spots do pop with your adjustments, and the subject is in good focus. However, most of the remaining features of this butterfly are dimmed by the lack of contrast with the leaf upon which it sits. It is actually easier to discern those features in the original. I suggest that you selectively lighten the leaf, and the shadows on the wings. Additionally, a white vignette might help the contrast. |

What a sweet face that fellow has. The purple flowers frame the subject well, but the lighter background areas are somewhat distracting. I would try adding a vignette (dark). What editing software did you use? |

MAGNIFICANT! Tac sharp and that head just pops out of the screen. That fellow posed for you. While it is practically perfect, I might try to tone down that bright background in the upper right. |

Wonderful abstract from a natural scene. Did you use a tripod? What did the original look like? The monochrome color is warm and pleasing. Perhaps some highlights could be toned down. |

The look of determination and perspective are indeed wonderful. Is that another bird behind the right wing? What did the original look like? It looks like you may have added a white vignette. I find it distracting. The reflection of the bird in the water below is interesting, but obscured by the bright light. What produced the glare? What adjustments did you make and what software did you use? If possible I would tone down that glare/vignette, bring out the reflection, and perhaps clean up the brush at the top. |

A GREAT catch of a wonderful moment in nature. The nearly tritone color pallet is warm and hints of the coming autumn. The subject pops out from the fore and background bokeh, and against the green. The slight motion in the tail adds to the overall sensation of leaping. The crop leaves sufficient space in front of the doe for her to run. I would not change a thing. I am not familiar with On1. What sort of adjustments did you make with it that could not be made with Lightroom? |
