Many thanks for your suggestions. I am looking into diffusers. I have never used, or even seen any. I am learning much from my participation in this group, and am grateful. |

Many thanks for your suggestions. I will explore the use of diffusers. I did shoot some lone flowers, but somehow this image captured my attention. The suggestions you all made will be put into play in my next venture. |

Thanks Mike, I have never used a diffuser. I will look into them. I shot this in the conservatory with sun streaming in through the windows. |

Many thanks for the suggestions. I have never tried reflectors, but will look into them. I am learning lightroom and have a long way to go. How would you address this issue in post? |

I love this composition. It does indeed have the feel of an asian watercolor. The colors are very pleasing. While the open aperture produced a wonderful background bokeh, an f8, or 11 might have produced a sharper image. Were you on a tripod? |

WOW! Amazing shot, and hand held too. The curved neck leads my eyes right to the parallel lines formed by the beak and the two faint blue streaks of light in the background--and then off into the right. The image is tack sharp, and colors are marvelous. This is a sure winner. |

What a great bird--a real punk rock star. He makes me smile! You made a good catch, but It would be nice to have the bird larger, and a bit sharper. The columns of light in the upper two thirds of the image distracted my eyes, as did the very bright streak of light across the near bottom. I wonder if a polarizer filter would have helped. |

Wonderful moody scene. I can almost hear the hounds howling. I agree with those who suggested removing the branch in the far right. However I like the partial branch on the fat left as it indicates a long line of trees extending to the left. I like the tones as you presented them; they add to the overall moody effect. |

That magnificent bird is struttin. The tack sharp head and subtle vignetting bring the bird to life. I also love the way the colors in the bird are picked up in the background. I rather like the way that the bird seems about to walk out of the image. |

I love this image! The gentle curves of the background bokeh, and the reprise in the green leaf attached to the bud produce a very peaceful and pleasing effect. The color juxtaposition is terrific. The white could be toned down a bit, as others have noted. |
