Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
79 Jul 19 Comment This is quintessential Judith. I love the abstract interplay of light and water against the unknown red forms. I happen to like the red forms, as they provide a sense of depth and place.

Here we have one of those images that allows you to see more, the longer you look. I agree with Karl that you can feel the rain.

The rivulets of rain water remind me of "legs" on a good glass of wine. Each droplet leaving a pathway of intentionality as it travels down word.

Where is typically I associate water with cooler colors. The ironic warmth and radiance of the colors in the image are a wonderful contrast to the cool clear water.

This image would make a great greeting card and a series of abstracts

I would be tempted to crop the dark separation at the top of the image out so as to allow the parade of circular lights to serve as the top "frame" of the image. The implication therein would be that perhaps these lights go on forever into the distance.

79 Jul 19 Comment I love this image, Karl. It reminds me of one of the lighthouse photos taken by James Archambeau. Except better. Because there is no distraction of a lighthouse or human form. Only the frenetic and yet frozen energy of the water.

The rule of thirds is brilliantly illustrated here. The top of the image is unwieldy, scattered and angry water. The middle of the image is that glassy and glossy image that a perfect wave creates for the surfer. The lower third is a more crystalline-looking pattern of waves as they succumb to order in their resolution of their kinetic energy. You can feel the surface tension juxtaposed against the wildness of the released droplets.

There are hundreds of colors in this image. Gorgeous.

Emotional evocation here includes the moody colors of an Andy Wyeth, the stark color simplicity of a Rothko, and the layered depths of water from a Howard Pyle.

This is one of those rare instances in which I recommend a Firmani flip. See what happens if you allow the Story to flow In the opposite direction.
