Beautiful range of tones. Would like to have something in the center lawn. Feels a bit empty there. |

Great, moody image. Sure looks like a 1000 year step back in time. Maybe a hair dark, but love the mood. |

Good shot. Makes me want to go there and try some snorkeling. The only suggestion is there seems to be a lot of empty foreground in the green water. I think your shot would be better with that green part cropped out.

Sweet. Maybe just a hair dark for me, but close to perfect. HDR at its finest. This raises the bar. |

The image is a good starting point, as is. To me the rocks are the story. I felt there was too much white water with no foreground element. So, I got rid of the small stick, cropped out the left side, cloned and burned in the hot part of the sky, tweaked the brightness and contrast. So, now that I have ruined your picture, here's what not to do.
It was a good shot. |

Thanks. The site is restricted. Technically, I could get into trouble for being there.
Irrigation Utilities in this County have status similar to Feudal Lords in Europe during the Dark Ages. (Also, if someone falls into this canal, there usually is no rescue. The body will be found a few miles downstream in one of the gates.)
Irrigation season is soon to end. Once the canal is drained for the winter, I'll go back up there to take more pictures. I am still documenting the facts surrounding our ongoing problems with service this year. |

Nothing in this County is on the level. I don't remember if the bridge climbs a grade or not. But, I will have to go back there for another inspection of the Canal, in a few days. Will try to remember to look at the bridge again. |

Definite improvement in the esthetics. However, part of the story is now cropped out, and the starkness and dreariness of this location has been softened. This land is harsh. Plenty of deer survive here, but none are named Bambi.

Yep, I wondered about the barn at the time. I think another flight and different (in air) composition is called for.
Regarding the trees....yes, that was air conditioning 100 years ago. In my travels searching for ruins to photograph, I look for clumps of trees, hoping to find a house or farm there. |

Good decision on the cloning out of elements. Improves the feel of the image a lot. |

Hard to find a spot to stay on in this shot. Busy.
Sorry about the crash. Hope you're back in the air soon. |
