33 Feb 21 Comment Technically, and aesthetically nice work. All I can ask for is a chance to shoot this subject myself, some day.
Well done.

33 Feb 21 Comment Nice shot. Reminds me of a place I visited in the 60's, except I did not have a high vantage point.

My only advice on the image is maybe adjust the highlights down a bit. There should be detail in the roofs of the boats you can bring up.

33 Feb 21 Reply The remaining graves are scattered about. I mainly have to shoot them one at a time. Some of the inscriptions are not legible.
I always feel a bit awkward walking about, due to the unmarked graves. I don't know what or who I am walking on. The ground is rough and irregular (due to the disinterment's) it is also tangled with undergrowth. Sometimes I imagine one of the decedents is playing with me as a foot gets stuck in a vine.
The older stones seem to convey more story with the statistics. They have their own feel.

33 Feb 21 Comment Good shot. I can't see anything to fix. Would like to be able to try some of the fish and chips in your town. Feb 1st
33 Feb 21 Comment Cool shot. Love the fence line. But, I feel it's a little in need of a touch more contrast. Tough to call on a day like this with socked in weather. Feb 1st
33 Feb 21 Comment Great shot. The only suggestion I have is maybe burn in the clouds a touch. Feb 1st

44 Feb 21 Reply I think I need to retrain my "Color Monkey." The sky could use a boost. I won't be adding a foreign image to DD 44 submissions. To me, the point of DD 44 is to learn how to work with the scene you have.

In the 80's a photo mag did an article on Journalists "cooking the image". At that time it was mortal sin. Eugene Smith was criticized soundly for fixing a bland corner in his image of Sweitzer by adding a tool box. Everything stayed in context, but he "cooked it" and got slapped by his peers. We are working with art, here, not Journalism....but I choose to keep it simple.

85 Feb 21 Reply Guess I need to retrain the Color Monkey. Lisa warned me this was dark. The posted version is quite a bit darker than what I saw on my monitor.

FAA now frowns upon night flying. Looking at the specter of regulations taking effect in two years, I wonder if it will be worth the trouble to make drone images. I think the "Big Brother Syndrome" is about to get much tougher.
