33 Sep 19 Reply Plenty of room for improvement in shooting this subject. I've done it from the ground, at night, and again with the drone at night. Both after I had to meet the deadline for this group with this shot.

The subject is tougher than it looks. Access is sketchy due to it being on private land, and the light here has not been kind.

I need to think of this thing as art, and not evidence. That might help clean up some junk.		 Sep 10th

44 Sep 19 Reply I spot metered the subject, shot some brackets, then combined 3 exposures. Minor tweaking of contrast and brightness. Probably touched the saturation of the yellows. Basically, I got lucky with the blend in Aurora 18. Sep 21st

44 Sep 19 Reply I was corrected on the use of this tower. According to a local, this tower held an oil tank. I wasn't informed if the oil was fuel for steamers or diesels. My guess is diesels, based on the timing of conversion from steam to electric locomotives. Sep 18th

85 Sep 19 Comment Some corrections. Fielden Thorp passed in 1893. There are 16 family interments here, and (maybe) the horse thief.
The site was chosen for the soil conditions. No one anticipated I-90 back in those days. I am not qualified to say if the traffic pleases or annoys the pioneers resting here.
It was a privilege to work with this subject. I got to shoot it on the ground and from the air. I am grateful to Mr. George for the favor.

85 Sep 19 Reply Lou, I played with composition a bit before submitting this shot. I think the sky makes the image. I just couldn't give up those clouds. Here is a crop using the suggestion to remove the freeway. It just doesn't move me. Sep 9th

85 Sep 19 Comment Good shot. I would have cropped the sky a bit, right about the top of the cloud on the right. Maybe make the brightness come down just a touch. Overall, cool shot. Sep 9th
