I have a love affair with clouds, which is a big reason I left them big and bold. We have big sky's, but not as big as Montana. I am a strong proponent of using a tripod and use one 75% of the time. |

I prefer Joseph's crop and edit, but not quite so much sky cropped out. Removing the half in/half out cranes made a huge difference. |

Your PS editing skills never cease to amaze me! I like the couple off to the right, but I'd like to see a spotlight on them. I'd also like to see a vignette at the bottom to draw my eye to the couple and the narrowing canopy of the trees. I think the light at the very end can be darkened just a bit. |

A very intimate scene! Your final edits definitely work. I agree with the others about the eyes. I suggest adding a vignette to darken the corners and further direct the eye to your subjects. |

Where the Crawdads Sing come to mind as I read your description.
I am trying to discern the light source and resulting shadows of your edited version. It feels like someone "turned on the lights." The original photo indicates the light source is the window. If this is the case, the items on the table, the edge of the window and chair seat would be lighter than the rest. I suggest darkening the the areas not naturally lit by the light. |

I have to agree with Peggy's cropping analysis. It appears the sky is the subject. The lines of the river bank lead to the horizon and sky. |
