I think this has good impact and I personally like the composition. Since I have never been to Cedar Rapids and am less familiar with this subject I can only view it as a first timer. I am seeing some halo effect around the sculpture so that may be the only thing I could suggest for improvement of this image. Nice capture... |

I like the impact that this has accomplished. With the face being out of focus it created a visual tension. Some people may like the face out of focus some may not. For me it makes me want to study the image further. Nicely captured... |

Love the image-nice impact, the composition is wonderful. The shutter speed captured the horse nice and sharp with the legs slightly blurred. Did you experiment by shooting at different shutter speeds? Slower speeds might give more blur to the legs. To improve it - a cleaner/more out of focus background might improve/help. I did a quick total blackish/brownish background with it and added a border to separate/confine the image. I know it makes the image less realistic but wanted to give my alternate vision of it. Wonderful image overall... |

I like the vision of capturing this image. I am not a fan of repeating what others have already said but yes I would go with the original version. Also not to add too many suggestions but if this were mine I might try blackening out the upper grill section and adding a slight vignette on the outside edges. Overall wonderful image. |

I think this image has great impact and I really like the composition. To improve it I would try to process it without the HDR software (using just LR or comparable software program). If the images are within 2 stops overall the HDR effect to me is not doing what it was intended for (processing images that are out of left and right portions of the histogram (for one image). I assume there may be one image that is within the left and right margins? Overall a very nice image... |

I like the imagination it took to see the face. To improve this image I would suggest taking out the objects in the background- and that could be done by making it completely black or completely white. My two cents anyway. I could see this image as a black and white picture. Might be worth a try. |

I don't normally do much portrait shooting but thought it was worth a try. Next time I think your suggestion of moving the off camera flash may do the trick. Thanks. |

I think looking back, I would in the future ask to see if they are willing to just remove their glasses all together. But some parents and/or graduates may not be up for that. I did go back into photoshop and try removing the glass reflection and the shadow. Not sure I was as succussful as Marla but here is the attempt anyhow. It was mostly done by using the clone stamp tool. |
