I saw the eclipse in 2017 and it was a sight never to be forgotten in my memory. I recall that during totality, the moon was the blackest and purest black I've ever seen; it was like a hole was punched into the sky. I agree with Joe about the stroke, but only for purposes of printing. For the current presentation I think a very slight stroke would help. Brings back once in a lifetime memories. Crescent moons are common; one of the rare times that one sees a crescent sun. |

As it turns out, as Joe notes, that's a pretty good likeness for an accidental fish, from nose to tail. Creative setup. It fits the theme in spades. Reminds me of a Fresnel lens -- I wonder if you could play around with underneath lighting. |

Very ethereal, almost metallic feel to your image. I bet this would look good on metallic paper. I agree with your crop, in that the dark segment running vertically on the left side of the original would detract from the composition. Even though the shapes are mostly the same, the variety of sizes adds interest and dynamism to the image. Good job! |

What power! Group 22 rocks! The organizers should compensate us for "appropriating" our theme by offering a free trip to see the remaining events... But, I digress. While your image is somewhat similar to Marti's, much of the original is still identifiable, and is less an abstract. It's as if the temple is being sucked into some kind of space/time warp whirlpool. The earth tones are pleasing to the eye. |

I think in this case the headlights, while meeting the theme requirements, are kind of reduced to being a minimum part of the overall composition. The picture taken as a whole is well done, if a little soft, but this is probably due to the grunge effect you applied. Also, there's some kind of gray bar running down the right side. |

I tried guessing what the original pic looked like -- I didn't come up with a winter forest scene. Quite the transition. Although I should've examined it more closely, now I can make out some tree branches. The final result looks like, to me at least, a bowl that features some kind of cracked glass construction. Dale Chihuly, take note! |

Great spot and capture! Really good example of story telling as well. Interesting fact about the use of the feather. Given the relative size of the chicks to the parents, I think you could zoom in (maybe a lot) so that they would be more prominent in the composition, especially with the protective looking back of the father. Also (and here I'm just guessing how far away you were) you could have opened up the lens to take advantage of the low light and given yourself some more shutter speed or less ISO. |

You did very well in spotting the surrounding orange tones in the nearby environment. This makes for an interesting and unusual color arrangement. It also picks up on the coloring in the duck. Nice detail, and the bird is well shown off. Could the detail in the eyes be brought out a little with some brightening? Good job. |

The bird is shown off against its environment very well, with the relative ease of gliding contrasting against the very turbulent waves. It appears you brought out detail in the wave tops which corrected the overexposure in the original; but in doing so you ended up having to make the body of the albatross a bit on the gray side. I like the "angry bird" appearance in the eyes -- unusual look. |

Nice recovery job in editing. Color balance good, and the ducks stand out nicely from both the background and foreground. Perhaps clone out the reflection bright spots in the upper left corner? |
