Well done in terms of composition with the river giving a leading line toward the back and the rocks in the foreground adding texture. Rule of thirds with the water, cliffs and sky. The boat adds a story line to your picture. Could be my monitor, but it seems a tad overexposed. The rock layers at the right help guide your eye to the center. Good job! |

Good irregular and colorful line of life jackets which connects with the water in the background and therefore tells a story. Maybe eliminate the rock in the lower left and level out the display stand, although it might have leaned over through the years. |

I can't believe I used the wrong 'their.' Sorry! |

Well done in terms of color balance, exposure and the modeling of the pumpkins owing to the lighting, which enhances the shapes. I am trying to make up my mind whether the wooden display stands should be there, especially the one in the upper right corner. An alternative might be to lower the camera to the point where only the pumpkins were in the composition. Either way, a very fine image. Could be used in an advertisement or to illustrate a magazine article. |

Nice job of sky replacement as it certainly looks more interesting than the original, and connects with the coloring of the foreground. Is the orange cast in the tree line intentional? Nice texture in the rail car, but perhaps you could have removed the building behind it. I like the way the line of trees and that dark line (a ditch or shadow?) in the lower right point to the rail car. |

I think that would apply to an entry in the nature division ('the hand of man rule') but would be permissible in a color category. |

Not much to add to the other comments -- very well done final image. Nice soft green and perfect bokeh, and as well I like the intersecting 'X' formed by the branch and the bird. Very simple but elegant composition! |

I like the crop as is because in the original the colorful flowers were a bit too prominent, and IMHO detracted from the bird. There's a nice curve formed by the back of the bird which leads the eye over and down to the interaction with the flower. Nice and sharp and the catch light is well done, but perhaps brighten the eye a bit. The yellow, reds and green add to the final result. I also like the way the claws/talons have a steady grip on the flower. |

Three nicely arranged elements here: the rugged, harsh rock to give an anchor for the bird to stand on, the living and
warm body of the bird itself, and backing everything is the cool and ethereal sky. BTW, I think the outstretched right leg that the bird is using to steady itself adds to the image. The eye is sharp and you caught the catch light well. I think Cindy is right in that perhaps the bird, at least, could be warmed a bit to make it stand out from the rest of the picture. Good result. |

I agree with Bruce about the crop -- most of the attraction in your composition is heavily weighted toward the left with the bird's head and its lighting. Otherwise well done with the exposure, sharpness and color balance. |

The placement of the branches could not have been handled any better -- bright and vibrant, has a tropical feel to it. Overall great depth of field while maintaining bokeh in the back. The bird is sharp, and its grey color helps to contrast it from the rest of the composition. Crop down from the top ever so slightly? Otherwise, head immediately for the nearest competition with your great action shot! |
