Nice exposure and diagonal line formed along the top of the buildings, separating the subject from the sky, which is a satisfactory use of negative space. I'm assuming that you didn't have room to back up or use of a wider lens -- more of the buildings would have helped the composition. |

Great graphical quality -- colorful and sharp. I don't know if it's possible, but the basket should be more visible, as right now it looks like the lines coming from the balloon seem to converge into the night air. Also, a stroke of one or two pixels would really help outline the composition. |

Subtle, yet vibrant coloration -- very much an impressionist feel to it. In terms of composition, nice balance between the lake and the sky. I think the reeds popping up from the water add to the image. I also like the curving, sweeping flow of the clouds. Great job! |

I think you took this shot at the right time of evening in that the sky is still visible, and the river surface at the lower right hand corner can be seen. As you intended, the light reflections are colorful and have a dancing rhythm about them. Nice and sharp. Maybe crop down a bit from the top? Rule of threes formed by the lights, the bridge, and the sky. |

Interesting image to look at, with a visual line between the distant city lights and the brightly lit pool in the center. The illumination provided by the Tucson night scene gives off a sense of contrast between the hustle and bustle of the far off city center and the quiet, serene look of the resort lying in a rural, isolated landscape. As people are not evident, would it be going too far to see your picture as a metaphor for being awake and being asleep, or even the lively versus the sedate? |

This would make for a really nice poster advertisement for an art show somewhere in Arizona. Great desert colors, with a 'hand' pointing toward the moon. Room at the top for text. The moon is offset from the center. Well done, BUT, does this qualify as a night scene? Could appear to be a sunrise as well as a moon rise. Regardless, great image! |

The Alligator Farm is quite the place, isn't it? Isaac Vaisman, group 15 administrator, won a PSA gold medal for an image of a gator leaping up out of the water with an unfortunate bird in its jaws, taken at the farm. You got a nice action shot, but perhaps there could be more contrast, especially in the head and beak. |

The pale blue of the water frames the white of the swans very nicely. The parallel lines formed by the necks and reflections form a kind of double 't' or even an H and adds impact to the composition. The overall exposure is handled well except for the head of the trailing swan, which could be brightened up a bit. |

Nice, sharp action capture, and the color balance and the exposure is spot on. However, you really could move in with the crop and still maintain the impact of your shot. For instance, you should be able to move in from the right at least a quarter of the way, maybe a bit more -- as it is, there isn't much happening in that area that is helping the composition. |

Nice capture of a natural story -- the heron will eat well tonight! Good job of cropping in to present a square composition, as well as giving more detail to the struggle between bird and snake. The only thing is that I think you may have gone from being too yellow in the original to being too blue in the final. Other wise, am image with impact. |

Beautiful tropical colors, Cindy. Sharp, with a nice bokeh in the background. As with Adrian's picture there's a nice soft box look. Great story here with the top bird curiously looking on as to what its mate is doing. For me, the story centers around the interaction between the birds and the berries, so maybe crop in a bit. A competition entry for sure. |

Nice and sharp, and the stepping movement makes this an action shot, rather than if the bird was merely standing there. The ground's angle makes for a good diagonal line. Well done bokeh in the background. Maybe put a slight catch light in the eye? The fog gives a fine soft box effect. Good effort. |
