Beautiful shot! Delicate pinks set against the dark green background. Very sharp, and the petals are set off one from the other, which is not always easy to pull off. The one lone petal at the top adds to the composition. Competition entry for sure! |

I'm assuming that you want an abstract feel to this, something like posterizing it in Photoshop. If so, you were successful -- it has a painterly look to it. Since in the final version the hood has become strictly a background without revealing what it actually is you could crop down from the top and in from the left to further emphasize the horn. Nice idea. |

Great dynamic action shot, one that you don't come across very often -- which is why, in my very humble opinion, you might have gone all the way to 400mm and gotten up close and personal, so to speak. I would love to get more detail in the clashing of their heads and the raw physical power of their interaction. Maybe going to full range of your lens could be used as an alternate experiment, so you would have the best of both worlds. |

A lot to like here. The warm colors give an antique look to this pic, which of course is fitting. I like the way the background transitions to the floor. The beautiful yellow of the wheels and axle is quite dynamic without being overpowering. Interesting, in that, at least for me, the steering wheel being offset helps to take the car off center in its own little way. The only thing is that at first I thought that the streak in the middle was a stain of some kind rather than a reflection. |

Cindy -- I have been going back and forth, back and forth on this image and while I agree that the cactus belongs, it seems that it takes up too much of the composition. The bird and the cactus needles are so sharp that you can definitely afford to zoom in and make the bird more prominent. Just a thought. |

No, not too wordy at all. Everyday little natural dramas are overlooked by the vast majority of people. This tells a great story and illustrates the process of life continuing. The line from tail to tail makes for a great sweeping 'c' shape. Maybe my monitor, but could there be a little more saturation? Excellent bokeh. Is the metal framework for perching or for protection from predators? Well done! |

Well done capture with good color balance. The sun angle gives a nice modeling effect and separates the bird from the background. However, as the bird, and to some extent its perch, is the main -- or really the only -- subject perhaps cropping in and giving a more vertical look would help with making a more pleasing composition. I think there seems to be enough sharpness to move in a bit closer. As it is, there seems to be too much negative space which does not add to the overall image. |

Great action capture, especially the bird on the right. Looks like it was a cloudy day which allows for obtaining detail on the underside of the wings, which would be difficult if the sun was out. High shutter speed stops the movement cold, and you've got fine sharpness in the claws and feathers. I wonder if you could try and remove some of the rocks immediately surrounding both eagles. Very good shot. |

Very nice 'rescue' from the shadows; I know the problem of having an image that combines both very dark and very bright light sources -- think of a wedding with a white dress and a black tux. Did you have a flash with you which would have given you enough detail in the bird? Otherwise, nice and sharp. I know the subject is the bird, but perhaps you could have included more of the plant in order to balance out the composition a little. |

Very nice exposure and color balance. The repeating images contribute to the composition. The blue of the water makes for a perfect frame and setting for the birds, and even the ripples in the water add to the the final look. Great time of the day for this shot. There's a slight diagonal line between the pair, and makes for a less static shot, Well done! You didn't say where this was taken. |
