91 Jan 24 Comment The yellow water is a nice touch -- something you don't see too often. I think the image is fine with the lead duck having its head up in that it adds a bit of counter-weight to the pattern of the ducks behind. I wonder if the water is a bit too bright in that it competes with the lighting of the birds. Overall, a nicely done image. Jan 15th
91 Jan 24 Comment Well done capture, with perfect bokeh. The horizon line and the tree branch give the bird a good sense of placement. However, I think maybe there is too much shown of the surrounding elements in the composition, so I hope you don't mind if I played around with your picture to crop in so that the subject is more prominent and detailed. I also brightened the eye and added a catch light. Always a matter of personal taste, of course. The branch is still present, just not as much, so the osprey still has a solid footing. Jan 14th
91 Jan 24 Comment Great head-on shot, and I sympathize with your situation where you indicated that you had little tracking time in fixing the image in your camera -- this happens with me when I'm trying to take pictures of race cars at speed. Sharp, with well done color rendering. You also benefited from the perfect sun angle. Well done! Jan 12th
91 Jan 24 Comment Steve -- you did a really good job of bringing out the birds and isolating them from the background; they stand out well. The coloration of the jays looks right on, and there's a well done 'imaginary' line between the birds' facing off against one another. The snow being kicked up adds to the sense of action.

91 Jan 24 Comment Good profile capture with a an effective s-curve. However, I think you went overboard with the color balance -- the green is over-saturated. You also could have zoomed in a bit more to put even more emphasis on the subject. As it is, the grass contributes to more cluttering than is necessary. Jan 11th
