22 Jun 23 Reply Both you and Al have valid points. I left the blue line at the top so that the edge of the track limits could be seen, which is a common view in race photography. Otherwise, it would look like the car was just running through some giant parking area. Perhaps I could have darkened it somewhat. On the bottom it's a close call on how bright the curb should be, but again, it's common to view this in order that the car can be seen demonstrating just how closely it comes to cutting the corner at speed. 22 Jun 23 Reply As it happens, the colors on the track - the orange and aqua - reflect the Miami Dolphins colors, as the track is laid out around the Dolphins' stadium. Tracking the cars on this part of the track was not so difficult because of the speed but the small amount of time I had to 'acquire the target.' The cars were popping out from behind a wall, and it was comparable to locking on to a bird springing out from a tree. I think I had about 25 to 50 yards to lock on, and they were going upwards of 150 mph. Jun 19th

22 Jun 23 Comment Very will done, with beautiful color saturation. And you're right about the water reflection constantly refreshing itself into a new abstract -- an unending source of a new composition. I find that my eye is moving back and forth between the hot reds and yellows toward the bottom and the solitary tree top. This would look great on glossy or maybe even metallic paper. Jun 13th

22 Jun 23 Comment This is an interesting idea, Mike -- contrasting the new with the old and the angular lines of the building with the sails. Forgive me, but I reworked your image (and did a very quick and crude composite) and cropped in from the top and left side, primarily to eliminate the bright blue of the sky. That meant I had to 'move' the ship forward so as to balance out the composition. As regards this, could you have waited a few more seconds to allow the ship to move on, OR, do you have a later shot from this sequence? This would eliminate a lot of work in editing. Jun 11th
22 Jun 23 Comment Wonderful image, Kaylyn! The colors in that sunset are handled extremely well and the prominence given to it in the composition leaves no doubt as to what the star of the show is. The people in the foreground only adds to the picture, with the direction of their viewing leading you right into the main part of the color explosion. The size of the figures also reinforces how insignificant we humans can seem when coming up against natural panoramas. I love the detail of the scene in the camera's view screen - makes this a 'picture in picture' effort. Was this intentional? Or a happy accident, to quote Bob Ross. Jun 9th
22 Jun 23 Comment Dramatic, beautiful capture of this scene. However, I think the image is over processed - if you look at the red roofs and the two spike-like objects you can see a noticeable ghost surrounding them, and the bright cloud in the middle seems to have reflective edges throughout - that cloud be blurred somewhat. Still, an enjoyable picture to look at. Jun 9th
22 Jun 23 Comment Nice tonal range and sharpness. I don't mind the lanterns being a bit off line, in that it makes the overall composition less perfect - something like the minor imperfections in hand thrown pottery. I like the exposure of the arch on the near right, could the other arches be darkened a little, so more detail would be brought out? Good solid, architectural feel to your image. Jun 9th
22 Jun 23 Comment Interesting spot! I was wondering if you could do focus stacking and make the edge of the cutout sharper, but this is more subtle and works well. On my monitor the landscape seems under exposed, but overall a good effort. The grass at the bottom reminds me of the texture of the bison's hair/fur. Jun 9th
