This image certainly portrays a man vs nature struggle, but the musher seems to be taking a bit of a break from the effort -- kind of just coasting along. Would it have been possible to get a shot of a team where the driver is pushing the dogs along? Also, I think overall the image could benefit from dialing back on the blue saturation. |

Unusual and creative capture - many against the one, although neither side appears to be all that willing to engage. I've heard many good things about the 100- 400 lens, and a friend of mine has one and has produced a lot of great results with it. I hope you don't mind, but I played around with your shot in order to get the coyote off center, and remove some of the excess on the right. I cloned out some birds on the right and cropped in from the right side, and a little bit from the left. I then moved the coyote toward the left. |

I really like the composition, especially the 'face' in the the tray staring back at the artisan. The color balance is very good. What do you think about cropping in from both sides? |

I prefer the exposure of the background in the original; maybe select out the flower and brighten it while retaining the original darkness of the background. Should the middle of the flower be a bit more saturated along with an increase in contrast? The serendipity of the insect provides some nice diagonal tension with the flower's center. Pretty image. |

Very nice composition - you have depicted a very raw day effectively. As Peggy notes, perhaps the reds of the buildings could have been juiced up a bit and perhaps the overall image could be brightened somewhat without diminishing the tone of the picture. I think Joe is right about the tilt of the lighthouse, yet the building behind it seems more 'plumb.' Perhaps this could be corrected using one of the skew or distort tools in Photoshop. Sometimes I will take the entire window of whatever I am using and move it over to the side of the computer, which is always vertical - or horizontal, as the case may be.
