Mike -- this is an interesting image to try and figure out. If I was reclined on an analyst's couch and was asked what I saw in this picture, I might just see nature encroaching on an old abandoned structure, reclaiming what was once nature's domain. Or, then again, I might imagine a kind of spider's web entrapping and about to devour these poor butterflies. Or, perhaps, maybe I really do need help .... |

Nice clear, sharp graphic, with great color palette. I wonder how this would look on metallic paper, or even glass. Why am I hearing voices in my head; faint strains of "follow the yellow brick road?" |

Creative use of the placement of the branches in front of the door, but perhaps too much of the door is blocked. Could you have lowered the camera somewhat so more of the door was visible? Colors are well done, and I like the subtle glow surrounding the entrance that resulted from indirect sunlight. |

Beautiful image! The pale, subtle blues, browns and greens go great together. Very good color balance. The wavy furrows have a great flow to them. By removing the pump you have made it totally natural, and at the same time retain a hint of mystery. Great sun angle -- brings out the shadows perfectly. I would have to agree about the clouds on the horizon -- other than that, a prize winner! |

Yeah -- the background was always going to be a problem. I feel your pain! I noticed in the original that there might be some potential backgrounds around the corner. Would it have been permissible to move around so that the subjects would have had a less distracting backing? If the organizer of the walk intentionally picked the spot, then she was pretty demanding -- or maybe had something of a sadistic bent ... |

This was a very ambitious project and it turned out beautifully. The color balance was spot on, and I'm glad you muted the background to the extent that it is not distracting, and acts as a framing device while still leaving a hint of foliage behind the flower. Very nicely done -- I'm going to have to get off my lazy butt and start working on focus stacking! |
