As I examine this further, I've come to notice that the middle of the circle has a feeling of depth of texture to it, almost like the wax seal on an envelope, and as you move out toward the edges things flatten out. Interesting effect. |

Marti, I'm of two minds here. I keep going back and forth between the original and the final version. I like the sharpness and contrast of the first image but the coloring of the second. The first image seems pale, but the final appears to be soft. The composition is well done, however. |

Interesting treatment to look at, and the colors go together well, especially the beautiful blues. You placed the "hub" of the wheel in a great location. I'm not sure what is meant by intentional camera movement, aside from zooming in or out. I would like to know how you achieved the circular pattern with your camera. Very creative! |

Mike, I like the way the road curves in to where the tank and windmill are standing, and then the visual line travels up the windmill and the vane seems to point back toward the right. In fact the blades and the vane combine to seem to be a sort of camera. Perhaps since the sky doesn't add much to the composition some of it could be cropped out without losing the sense of vastness. Marti's alteration helps in that it gives the sky a look as if you had used a polarizing filter. |

Joe -- a very interesting result of the use of your creative eye. I must admit I am having trouble figuring this one out. What is the orange pattern in the base, is it a canopy of some kind? I would say that if it is an eye catcher, then it is an outstanding image. A distorted abstract picture should not need an explanation, but maybe in this case it might help. |

Nice effect, Al, with predominant pale blues, greens and orange/yellows. I could see this printed on torn paper, or some paper with a rough texture. Not quite, but almost a water color feel to it. As I see it on my monitor, it could be a little over-exposed and maybe needing some boost in contrast. Holy Freud, Batman! There's symbolism aplenty all over this image...but to paraphrase, sometimes a cactus is only a cactus... |

Au contraire Peggy (I think I spelled that right)! This is a great image! I think it could be printed with a bit of brightening, or at least entered in a competition. If you mounted it, the frame of the entrance way could make for a frame within a frame. I do agree with Mike in that the height of the ceiling, while revealing the overall large dimensions of the room, does unbalance the composition. Assuming this was taken hand held, it may be that there is too much noise or blurring for it to be enlarged much -- I can't tell by what I see on my monitor. This image tells a story of so much of contemporary life -- two men surrounded by fine art and yet cannot stay away from the phones. I have a feeling that they will remember little of what they saw there. Very well done! |
